another Brazilian, thinking that he can arrive with both feet in the door, without reading the entire forum. hahaha.

It's sad to know that Brazilians make this kind of joke, half criticizing and half criticizing.

tip for newbies. Before criticizing, read first. OWN EXPERIENCE.

How has Simracing/Flysimming/Trainsimming affected your attention spans and ability to focus?

my dear compatriot "São Paulino". arrive with this type of criticism, with both feet on the chest here on the forum. are not well accepted, both because their statement is wrong, and because it is too acidic, with unnecessary tones of sarcasm.

Everyone here on the forum knows that the game will release the update when it is ready. and it's not your criticism that will speed it up.

Today's bad thing about society is that your opinions are insignificant for production deadlines, something that requires the attention of other people.

As I said in another post, like it or not. Be careful with the sarcasm you said, because you received more sarcasm in response. own experience.

If I’m driving a car around a track, I can only focus on that. If I play anything slower like War Thunder or ETS 2, I have a video on my second monitor so I do not get bored

Played HoI4 last night with the mates. Nearly fell asleep multiple times. There was just nothing happening to keep my attention. Had to invade Norway just so I wouldn't die of boredom.

Yes, it's me, but I was focused on the start of my league's championship. and in beta testing. Then time was up to come up with a good text.

It's funny how people don't like the truth. Evil in society does not accept the truth. and they just want to express their opinions, as if they were important. and when they are criticized, they like to say that the person is very hard on them.

Wait you're forgetting the best one! When someone says their opinion, gets pushback and then says "I'm allowed to have an opinion!"

Well, you're obviously not allowed to disagree with their opinion, your own opinion does not count, only theirs :) But what else is new in the universe? We're all guilty of it also to some degree, some just take it a bit further than others.

On another note: seems a bit rainy at Interlagos and the last time I checked the weather forecast was not great either for Sunday, it has the potential to become quite messy.

The only truly wet races in F1 will be raced in sims from now on I guess.

qualifying was scheduled for Sunday at 7:30 local time, and the race was brought forward to 12:30 local time as well because the forecast is for a lot of water, and they don't want a new SPA.

Would be good for the Dutch barbarian if it became a new Spa and less points were awarded :)

Thanks for letting me know though, I knew quali would be in the morning but not that they moved the race also.

Answering my own question now that it’s Sunday. I've dealt with severe, long-lasting tinnitus for about 11 years—maybe longer, though it wasn’t as loud back then.

Recently, I read studies suggesting that tinnitus might increase the risk of early-onset dementia. Honestly, I believe it; I’ve felt my concentration and focus slipping, and I don’t feel as sharp or quick to learn as I once did. It’s frustrating to think of my potential being limited by this.

In 2015, I decided to give sim racing a try as a way to cope with my tinnitus, panic attacks, and to simply find a distraction. (Yes, tinnitus can mimic certain engine sounds.) Those first few hours were exhausting, but with time and practice, I noticed improvements. My concentration and attention span grew stronger, along with my confidence.

After hundreds—maybe thousands—of hours and all the energy I’ve put into this, I can honestly say it’s paid off. My consistency and situational awareness, especially in multiplayer sessions, are now among my strongest qualities.

Though I’m not quite the quick learner and reader I once was, sim racing remains my anchor to train my concentration and attention spans. It’s also still my go-to distraction when I need to keep my sanity in check, and I’m grateful that my journey to manage tinnitus has connected me with other sim racers, colleagues, and friends along the way.
