    Hello
Does anyone use the Next Level Racing HF8-Haptic Feedback Gaming Pad with AMS2?
I've read a lot of good things about it and seen it on YouTube.
What are your experiences? What about longevity after a year or two?
I am grateful for every opinion and experience on this topic.

I got mine in spring this year. It was used so about 1 year old when i got it

I only had 1 problem with mine and that was one of the haptic motors stopped working. Turned our that the soldering on that one motor was not good so a very easy fix

Other than that I cant race without it. When setup right it add soo much

its not the most comfy, and incan sit in it for about 2-3 hours before needing to take a short break. A small pullow would fix this i think

I race in vr, so with a fan and this the immersion is really good

I also have it together with other hardware from Next Level racing. Therefore it fits perfectly into the rig and it works very well to get more immersion. Can't say anything negative about it, for me it's actually better than the butt kickers I used to have. Price-performance is convincing, you won't go wrong with it

    Hello
    Thank you for your answers,
The most important thing to me is the information about durability!
On the Internet you can find a lot of information about how good the part is and some criticisms
like the heat development and that there can be pressure points but not how long the part lasts.
No matter how good the part is, if it's just scrap after a year, that's no use.
I'll see if there's a good deal on the HF8 on Black Friday.
Of course I'm still open to your opinions, especially with regards to durability.
    Greetings Micha

Nobody can tell you that. I can buy a new car and it can have problems after a short time or it can run for a long time without problems;)

I have one. It definitely adds to the immersion, although I haven’t had any other similar products to compare with.
It is slightly uncomfortable in that you can feel the pads through the padding if you use your seat for other than racing etc.
The next level software does support AMS2, but not RF2 or LMU, but I would recommend using Sim hub anyway.
As for durability, I purchased mine in Jan 24, one of the pads stopped working last month, however an email and a short video of the issue to Next Level support, and I had a brand new replacement within a couple of days.
I should add that I use it most days for at least a couple of hours at a time

Had mine for a while now, and generally it is a great add on for sim racing. I really notice when I forget to enable it, such is its feedback when dialled in. Simhub is way better than the default software, it has much more tunability - though I noticed the recent updated software from NLR made the effects feel stronger. My front left motor stopped working a few months back and, as it was out of warranty, I was out of luck with NLR providing any help. I think the usual sliding across the front left of the seat to get in and out of my rig may have loosened the motor's connection, but I'd need to open it up to check. But still, I think it is a really useful addition to a sim rig.

I think its a good addition, very happy with it - especially using it with Simhub.

Interestingly though I also have a front motor - front right for me - that has stopped working, which does seem to be a bit of a theme in this thread. Even with that one motor currently down it still adds to the experience though.

    Hi
Thanks, that's some useful information on the topic.
Question to AndyF: why do you have a guarantee or was it a goodwill gesture from NLR?
Question to Redvaliant: why don't you have a guarantee?
Maybe just re-soldering is enough for you like with AllocDK.
If you fix it, let us know if it worked.
Does NLR even offer a warranty for the HF8?
In any case, I want one too!!!
I'm trying to hold off until Black Friday, maybe I can get a good deal.
If not, that's not a problem,
When I think about how much the Fanatec stuff cost me, it's not really much,
the HF8 is already available for around €200.
I'm looking forward to having my back massaged on the Nordschleife.
    Greetings Micha

"A little more expensive" is good, the part costs more than twice as much with shipping.
only has 6 motors instead of 8, but I could imagine that they are arranged better.
The part looks like a urinal on the ISS.
    But it's definitely worth considering.
To be honest, I'm thinking about dismantling the part, whatever it is, and somehow
to integrate into my racing seat and solder it better!?!?

I bought it in Jan 24, front right hand motor failed after 10 months, so still within the 12 month warranty, but I do use it nearly everyday for 2/3 hrs

    Hello
    Thanks for the information!
So I actually know everything I wanted to know.
    Conclusion:
There is a guarantee (12 months) and NLR doesn't cause any problems.
The weak points are probably the solder connections, that shouldn't be a problem for me.
    THX a lot, Micha

I'm joining the thread to find out from anyone who owns it if you think I can fit it into the seat in the photo, those side edges make me think I can't fix the straps.

    Seat.jpeg

And then my seat has a seat width of 35 cm and a backrest of 32 cm, can I insert the HF8?

hi, I would like to help you but I don't have an HF8 yet, but I will order one.
Just google it and you'll be sure to find the dimensions.
There are also some videos on YouTube. Actually you can find all the information on the internet
    except long-term experiences.

I will measure the mass of the HF8 mat for you this evening. But I'm afraid that your seat is too narrow for the HF8

I have a Cobra Suzuka Bucket Sport Seat in the wide version, that is 38cm on the seat base at the front, and it only just fits in at that point, so I think you might struggle
