Nice video. It mostly looked great.

A few critical observations:

Despite cars spinning off I didn't see any yellow flags.

Both classes were coloured red in the position table. Would be good to have different colours for the classes (and it would be lovely to have the manufacturer badges in there too).

Still no chequered flag.

But mostly looks v good

 

You had lots and lots of warping. The cars don't move smoothly at all. When you focus on it you cannot unsee it. Hopefully things are much better now. Hopefully, I am not too harsh. I very much appreciate that they got a video out.

Um, this was a replay. As far as I remember, the sign for e..g yellows doesn't appear on a replay (neither would the checkered). This of course is something you can comment on , but they mey also have turned FCY off. Just saying.

 

Same, all I can say is that for me everything ran fine, but I'm in the UK with gigabit Internet and I'm guessing a good proportion of the drivers were EU based, so when you add distance to each and every other driver in the lobby regardless of the sim things can sometimes go amis.

 

I guess i have been looking at a different video, you sure you wasn't looking at a low resolution or slow connection yourself?

I guess for some people things are never good enough.....

 

Honestly I have been iRacing for 5 years, and I have seen and experienced much worse than what I saw here. It looked really ok to me, very useable, very predictable (excpet the big glitch).

Similar situation here, anyone with sub 200ms ping was solid. Folks up around 400ms plus exhibited jittery behaviour but with almost half a second delay in position updates that's fairly expected.

I joined from canada, server was hosted in Germany, and other folks were in south America... that's a long round trip. Having the server near by or playing with people on the same continent will be much smoother for pretty obvious reasons.

 

Maybe I am just a critical type .
For example, look at the blue Mclaren from 9min 26seconds onwards.

 

Ah, thanks for pointing that out. That's something I didn't know and hadn't considered.

 

It's ok - I had just noticed this once when I was playing some 90s F1 races (where FCY are inevitable) and i kept forgetting when the yellow flags was in the replays and why we were all suddenly going so slowly!

I am EXCITED for the update now

 

It certainly is a bit Jittery, but that is not what I would call warping, which is when a car instantly goes from one spot on the track to another, like the car at 1:22

 

Critical or unrealistic?
I wouldn't call that mclaren warping tbh, and once again you seem to forget (or ignore) the fact that some people had a ping of +400 in this race, if you would have that in the current version, people with such high ping would move very unpredictable, and as also mentioned by others, every sim struggles with that at some point, even the one that you pay monthly for.

 

Just to give a bit of contest to whom is not experienced on this matter.....

 

Thanks, i prefer the mclaren in the ams2 video over a blinking/bouncing car every day of the week...

 

Just got Iracing a few days ago with the 50% off sale. Really enjoying it, but had this happen aswell. Guy was jumping like 5m into the air and then teleporting back down to the ground. At a certain point ping is just too damn high and theres not much the developers can do at that point besides just kicking the player

Oh sure. I mean, iR is still far away on several MP fronts, let's not hide behind a finger.
I remember last time I did a 4h race at Nords with a friend of mine as team-mate which had an awful internet connection. For each stint the one not driving spotted for the driving team-mate. Well, I grew a terrible head-ache because I was spotting 45 minutes stint with "his" car bouncing all over the place way more than represented in the video..... awful experience...(also because the audio is bouncing as well in sync with the video)

 

How long will the BF deals last? And will I still be eligible for the 50% discount (while the deal is ongoing) if I get just the 1 month now and want to let's say upgrade to the 2 year membership (If i like the service) in a few days time?
