I'm heading out for a few hours this evening. I want to get home and see a dev update.

 

Having an outside third-party promote the 1.6 release is a great sign. You wouldn’t ask a partner to put themselves out there like this unless you were absolutely confident the release was imminent.

 

Yeah I agree that warping isn't the right word. That was too harsh. I call it stuttering.
I find it dangerous to post a video that has so much of this. Because people are going to see the video and will not know that people had a ping of +400. But yeah often I am too critical.

 

I havent seen it mentioned on YouTube and Race Depar- ugh... I mean Overtake.gg. I think there being a comment in the video itself pointing out the warping that happened goes a long way. Shows that they're not trying to "hide" the imperfections, infact the reception of the video in general has been a lot more positive than I thought it would be (though you still have the typical cynicism and whatnot, but still better than what I was expecting especially on Overtake)

 

Yall irritated about a little warping from high ping? Iracing has falling, floating and disappearing and reappearing cars. I like iracing. Hell I'm not a picky person when it comes to sim racing. I play all of them but iracing has some of the weirdest ping problems that I dont typically experience in any other sim.

 

Is it YouTube softening the image or have they actually improved the aliasing on the shadows?

 

Maybe compression from YT but the shadow casting is on update list for 2025

 

Cars shaders development appears to be really good. Congrats.

 

It took 6 replies for RD's resident court jester to bring in the "lul ams2 bad , lmu/tdusc good " as opposed to it being the very first comment so I consider that an immediate PR win for AMS2 That aside it seems to be standard fare, fairly relaxed compared to a lot of the flame wars I've seen about AMS2 knock on wood

 

Speaking of safety (or pace) car, anybody see the pace car crashing into the pit entry during yesterday's NASCAR race?

 

Finally a decent video to watch I’m salivating at the thought of getting back into it however …….. My PC and whole Sim rig is out of action as we are decorating and carpeting that room so please give me until at least the wk end to get it all back.

 

Question for the dev.
With the communication made this day it is clear that the hype is maximum. And the last time with pt2 update we had almost 2 month of delay until now.

This week can we imagine gameplay from others and a date for realese ?

This question is not for me but all the people that want clear answer

The driving experience in that race was really smooth, can’t remember seeing any warping at all from my pov and I was first in front of Renato for few laps and then behind few more, he is in Brazil and I’m in Finland and it felt smooth like a butter. Not to mention driving thru the gt3 traffic with people from all around the world without any issues. Netcode is never going to be perfect, but to me it’s quite impressive improvement from what it has been in AMS2 with bigger grids.

 

i second that. Reiza , you still have my heart but "in a few days" , "weeks not months" as grow to become frustrating...

December is near. Pt2 is already 2 months back now.

 

Not a dev, but just to fill you in: youtuber and simracer Nils Naujoks has confirmed this morning that he is gonna drop a video on ams2 1.6 this week. Considering how thorough and knowledgeable he is, I expect his preview to be very high quality, unlike someone else's in the past

 

I'm back and there is no update.
My evening is ruined.

 

Its probably in 3-5 weeks to go before release.

 

It took me about 30 seconds watching the LFM video to grok how big a change 1.6 is gonna be.
