I just bought a new steering wheel, is it possible to have a profile per steering wheel to exchange steering wheels depending on the car used without reassigning the buttons each time?

    1.6 coming soon :p

You have 5 control preset slots in the controls settings for different assignments per profile.

I have to re-assign my steering wheels every time I swap them over as even though I change the profile in game the buttons are dead until I remap them, it is a pretty painful process.

If you are using Simhub look into Control Mapper. Really useful plug-in if you swap wheels.

I came to the forum to assign this problem. Isn't there any workaround for it?
It keeps me away from swapping steering wheels or even play AMS2 if i have to swap the wheel for a car i want to drive with...

Yes i have heard about this but have no idea how it works, I do use simhub for other things though. Would be nice if it just worked natively in game.

I should also try that than. It works with vJoy, I really can't get my head around vJoy and what it actually does

Switching wheels using in game profiles have worked fine for me, but I find using Control Mapper works even better because I don’t have to think about profiles at all.
This picture illustrates how it works:

First time I set it up I used these two videos as a guide:

Thanks, will have to check it out, had a quick read at github but couldn't make a lot of sense out of it, lol.

Can you have multiple buttons mapped to a function?

Yeah, I tried it years ago but found it clunky use.

Yes,I have buttons on both my button box and wheel mapped to the same function in the game.
Lots of other options as well, for instance long and short button presses, so one button can do different things.
I have long press on a button to turn on headlights, and short press on the same button to toggle high beam.
