Yes, on 566.14 running beta with VD / Windows 11 and no issues at all. I do suggest using DDU to do a safe mode uninstall of previous driver.

Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) download latest version 18.0.8.7

If you use OpenComposite also, then yes for XR Toolkit. I don't use foveated rendering so can't speak to that.

This worked, thank you! I will say that fps performance with VD vs the link cable and opencomposite is bad at this point. Any way to get opencomposite to work with virtual desktop?

OpenComposite works fine with VD. Just select VDXR for the codec in the streamer app.

As for the performance, I found with anything less than a 6e router it wasn't great. Also need to have your router connected directly to your PC with cable.

Tested 1.6 in VR. Needs to runs more races, to update shaders. Looks good, but worse performance in all scenarios. Rain is a crap now, needs a lot of optimization or a "legacy PCars 2" option. No more rain inside closed cockpit, Very good.

Sparks now are perfect. Really nice. Need a 4090 now.

    *EDIT*

FULL REINSTALL SOLVES PERFORMANCE ISSUES. NOW LOOKS BETTER AND RUNS THE SAME PERFORMANCE.

lol. . . I was playing through SteamVR with VDXR ticked in the streamer app. Got everything aligned (in SteamVR) and it was better, but still not where it was with the link cable. I have a 2.5 Gbit ethernet card cabled directly to my router, not sure of the specs on that.

Not sure if this is 1.6 related now that that's out but what I'm seeing is like a 'jittering' even in menu screens and one instance of losing connection and freezing completely in about 30 laps of running.
Any settings you care to share within the game, NVIDIA settings, the headset etc., would be appreciated? Are you using opencomposite?

I have an RTX 4070 and a 12th gen I5 CPU with 16gb of ram

Your router makes a big difference. What speed does it show in VD when you have Performance Monitor displayed?

Edit: Internet speed is irrelevant to VD performance. It's all about router speed and making sure you are cabled directly to router. Also, be sure you don't have encrypted connection checked as it destroys performance.

Another Edit: VD doesn't like mesh routers.

Im using link cable and open composite. For some reason openxr toolkit won't open when i launch AMS2. Can anyone tell me why? I notice in openxrtoolkit it is looking for ams2avx.exe, but when launching the game via steamvr mode its not using that exe? So im guessing that is the issue is that openxr tookit doesn't think the game has launched?

Worse performance in 1.6 for me, from 72FPS stable (full race grid) to 30-50FPS unstable.
I will try reinstaling as some suggests.

If you're on Quest, be sure you drop this into the root folder of AMS2.

How do I get the game to launch using opencomposite, do I need to replace the openxr.dll file in the AMS2 folder and then add the bypassoculusdetector file to the AMS2 folder?

Also, huge thanks to you for being responsive, willing to help and actually knowing your stuff. Appreciated.

You put the LibOVRRT64_1.dll (64 bit Oculus bypass detector) in the Automobilista 2 folder (in Steam folder, not the one in Documents).

You put the OpenComposite openvr_api.dll in the Automobilista 2/x64 folder. Make a copy or rename the original openvr_api.dll before putting the OC version in there so you can revert back if you wish.

The 5g @ 1200mpbs is really bare minimum. Make sure no one else is using the router or you will get stutters. Also, try to keep it on a clean channel away from interference from neighbors routers as much as possible. Be sure in VD Desktop Streamer app to leave auto bitrate selected. That should help.

    I had a 5g @ 866 and wasn't happy with it, so invested in a good 6e router.

Edit: Turn on the performance monitor in VD and you should see VDXR+OC in orange text if it is actually using OC. Orange text also means something to keep an eye on, as it's not in acceptable range.

You can look for clean wifi channels with this free app. https://lizardsystems.com/wi-fi-scanner/

I'm noticing a bit of a drop in performance with 1.6. I gave the game a much needed break for a few weeks in anticipation of this update but now it's struggling a little at the same settings, will need to dial back

My specs are i710700k, 10GB 3080, 32GB ram, Quest 2 using OpenXr and OpenXr toolkit and link cable

I did too until I went into W11 Settings:

    Game Mode : ON
System - Display - Graphics - Default graphics settings
    Hardware Accelerated : ON
    Variable Fresh Rate : ON
    Optimisation for Windowed Games: ON

Not sure which one fixed my issue of GPU being somewhat throttled but back to smooth 90Hz.
