Hi I recently (like today) got AMS (running beta) but have not find any solution yet for these questions, any help welcome First, my throttle on my Heusinkveld pedal set seems to have an dead band (30%?) even with none set?(calibration checked). Any ideas how to fix that? I'm also using an OSW wheel with SimuCube, on rF2 I need to set the rotation manually and it seems to be the case here as well, but where do I find this for each car? Is it possible to set an FFB strength for each car? I'm also on an 7680x1440 1080ti SLI setup, so for 0x02D04005 seems to be the best compatibility bits but have some flicker, other suggestions welcome. Bezel correction in game not possible?
That I have found out myself But there is a bit of tweaking to find suitable gfx performance (problems in rF2, AC as well), with 2x1080ti at 2xPXI x16 and i7-7700k I still get below 60fps in certain conditions, running 7680x1440.
So I help myself a bit more Yes, in the "RealFeelPlugin.ini" I assume? I changed the FFB from pure 360hz to pure 180hz, i'm running the new simucube beta and AMS is not officially supported (yet) and after that I can put every setting maxed out and High+ in the cfg tool, sweetFX on (i prefer it off) and still solid 90fps (locked) with an 20 car ai race. I post an note in the granity forum and see if they can comment on that behavior.
I assigned the axis again and then it worked ok And an update on 360/180Hz, with 360Hz there for sure seems to be some micro stutter and sometimes a 2-10fps drop. So far the 180Hz seems to better but I have to test more. Using SLI bits 0x02400001 instead removed the flicker on some shadows/items
Now I have tried some more, it seems that one issue still is the shadows. I have had (have) performance problems with two different mb and two different sli cfg's and in rf2 as well. Anything else in rf2 than low shadows cause micro stutter when close to other cars, even at high fps. Maybe it is an triple/sli issue? Similar behavior in AMS, alone almost anything works, could also get ok result but after a while the stutter kinds of build up when I'm close bumper to bumper. Bits now is 0x02404005 that remove the flickers but performance better than above. Using at 8x multisampling but maybe higher setting could work, shadows at medium everything else at max except circuit at medium, gives smooth 20 AI 15 minute race. Still using 180hz as 360 still gives fps drop and some stutter, strange it is. CPU or GPU's not near any limits. But still, top sim work by Reiza
Very helpful forum, isn't it? I use a SimuCube OSW myself too, but even though I change rotation degree for each car , It doesnt change rotation on my wheel. So the only way I can change wheel rotation is by changing the streering lock for each car. I dont have any stutter problems with pure 360HZ. (triple monitors, AMD GPU)
I've had that using CST pedals as well; reassigning the main controls until it corrects itself seems to do the trick. It may take a few try's to work.
Sometimes you just need to talk to yourself Anyway, I'll check that steering again that it actually is working as expected as I normally have the wheel off. Good to know about the non stutter, I assume there is something in my hw/driver combo causing it. In rF2 anything else than low shadows just kills the fps, overall the performance in relative bad, AC works much better regarding the fps/stutter but not maxed out as it resulted in high fps microstutter as well. With above settings AMS is running fine so far Regarding Bezel correction, adding it in nvidia surround gives you an custom resolution but the original is still available as well so it is still possible to use that for AC/rF2 etc and have corrected view in AMS (I didn't know it works that way).
So I can confirm, using an profile with the same rotation as the car, gives me an 1:1 ratio with the in-game wheel. I'm using the new beta but I assume it would (should) be the same for MMOS as it is(was) the same for rF2.
Im using the latest beta SimuCube FW too. I had it set to 900 degrees. I dont like to change it for every car, so I just play around with the steering lock option (in garage) to get the intended steering rotation value. RF2 has terrible graphics optimization, Im getting terrible FPS on triples. AMS and AC are pretty good, getting about 80-90 FPS on medium-high settings. Only issue with AC that I get the 100% CPU occupancy msg when using the full FFB frequency rate. So I had to change it to half rate FFB (in controls menu) and that fix the problem. Other than that I love FFB in AMS and iRacing. I dont think AC has a great FFB, road feel is terrible, and the whole feel has a rubber band effect to it.
Yes, rF2 is really bad with triples and SLI. For decent (playable) fps I have to use low in many settings and custom nvidia profile settings. Now I have 70-90fps, you can only hope it's get better. With AC I get an average 170fps with the internal benchmark but have locked it to 90fps. I have tried even some more AMS and with 8xmultisample and medium shadow everything else on max I get caped 90fps. Without the fps is in the 100-140fps range. All above with 15 AI's, cpu not near any limits. I think the FFB in AC is ok and it is possible to tune it not to be so "rubbery" but even then, both AMS and rF2 gives the more realistic feedback in comparison. When you use the steering lock this is saved in the setup file and will the steering wheel get an 1:1 ratio on screen? If you do any online with fixed setups (if possible?) then it won't work I guess?
Yes, whatever steering lock value I put in, the ratio is always 1:1 on screen. But I drive with virtual steering wheel off anyway. I assume fixed setup online sessions will not let you change that, so it won't work. I never use AMS online. (almost impossible to find a decent lobby)
And I can add some strange "performance" figures, triples 7800x1440, 1080ti SLI, gsync non limited fps no other cars - 180-230fps, intense micro stutter shadow max, visible ai, 60-180fps, intense micro stutter shadow medium, visible ai, 90-180fps, intense micro stutter with vsync, up to 120fps, micro stutter and warping locked 90fps in nvidia profile, a little less stutter, but not playable locked 90fps in-game, works the best, at worst maybee few stutters during an 20m race I'm sure this is related to triples and/or sli somehow, high fps by itself should not be an issue.
In AC, I always have "Gyro" enabled and some Min-Dampening (0.2) in the assetto_corsa.ini file. From there, a bit of filtering (SimuCube) or Smoothing (SimCommander) works really well but, if you set the Road Effects too high, the wheel will feel grainy and may make noise.
The stuttering seems to happen when fps drop below my set one (90fps) just even for a few frames, 360hz seems affect fps just a little but I don't notice any difference to 180hz. Now I have also adjusted track objects to low so the fps is very steady, and it gives a more realistic view as well, no visitors on track I do mostly league racing and the open lobby in AC (have not tried rF2:s) is most of the time an mess as well. But I have recently been using SRS for "jump-in" racing so to speak and I think it works very well. Now they have AC, rF2 and AMS on the same platform. Did my first one with AMS today and it was great, the guy in pole shared his setup with everybody and great 19 grid race (16 made it to the race), fantastic
An little update, I assume there was some other issue in my system as well, have change nvidia drivers (currently to an older one) and gpu clocking. Still using above SLI bits but now I'm able to have everything at max (except circuit detail since I prefer low there), 360Hz FFB and solid 120fps with 20 AI race
