'Car trains' AI behaviour is still a little buggy. I noticed this with other cars in Renato's last video before release. Hope it continues to be worked on. PPS. There's also some weird behaviour where, if you pass on the outside and the AI makes contact with you, it's almost impossible to turn to the inside even if the AI is only touching you on the back. It's really weird behaviour.
Yep, they still have some issues with overtaking each other and running in packs, less than before, but still there. It also depends a lot on the track and class. It's something they have really worked on a lot, but still seems to be a though nut to crack. The AI behind seem to get a brake boost to be able to overtake, but then they can't really outbreak each other which causes these trains. And unless the car behind is massively faster, once they do manage to get past, the car behind gets that brake boost and the cycle can repeat itself, thus creating a race long battle that on most racing series is not that realistic. It's a conundrum really, because without that brake boost the AI might never overtake each other, who knows. But because of it, they stay glued to each other rather unrealistically. Regarding the magnetic AI, yes it's incredibly annoying and it was there in PC1, hopefully they can fix it in the future.
