Anyone using AMS2 with Dbox5? I noticed the following issues: -When the braking pedal is quickly released, on the screen the car rebounds accordingly , but the Dbox actuators rebounds much slower. -The Dbox montion core software for Automobilista2 doesn’t allow gearshift intensity adjustment. This adjustment exists for Asseto Corsa montion core software. Anyone else having the same issues? I think Reiza together with Dbox, they should solve those issues, due to the fact that both companies produce high quality stuff.
I use an older D-box system and those same issues are present with my system. I have reported the delayed response (braking / Accel) a couple of times (Along with others that have been resolved recently (No motion on dirt / grass, etc.)). It occurs to me that the solution may have to come after some other pre-requisite has been met, maybe even in part related to D-box involvement (?) Regarding the shift-effect, that may ultimately come down to D-box tech to provide (Maybe dependent on AMS2 development maturity)? If you experiment with the Reactivity Dampening / Pitch setting in D-box Game Center settings for AMS2, you may be able to improve shift-effect behavior, at least for some cars.
Sounds like a configuration issue. Game developers use D-Box's SDK and can either config the motion code themselves, or get D-Box engineers to configure it for them. I'd hazard a guess that D-Box engineers would jump at opportunity to improve motion codes, but in most cases it comes down to prioritization by the game's developer.
Unfortunately, testing this new version 1.6, I’m finding lots of serious bugs which didn’t exist in the previouse version, which affects the Dbox performance. For example, when entering corners “subida do lago” and “junção” at Interlagos circuit, there are portions of the track where there is no output from Dbox.
Most of development from v1.5 to just prior to v1.6, had no motion effects off track, including run-off / grass / aprons and dirt surfaces. I've not found any areas without motion effects in v1.6 yet but, I'll test to see if I can reproduce the issue at Interlagos.
We’ve just released a new version of Automobilista 2 on the Game Center (1.3.11267). The pit exit transition is not as intense, if the movements feel too abrupt, you can use reactivity damping adjustments to smooth them out. We’ve also added adjustment controls for gear shift kick in the Motion Profile Editor. The parameter allows you to fine-tune the shift’s intensity when it occurs. We are planning to still improve the haptic code in the future, thank you for your comments.
Thank you for the update! The Gear Shift Kick seems to work very nicely however, I noticed a shuddering effect occurs when accelerating / braking when the Pitch-Reactivity is increased beyond default setting. The transition is not smooth, and still sluggish (delayed) overall. Cars used in testing: Formula Vee / Formula Junior / Formula3. To reproduce: I turned all secondary effects to Zero, leaving only General Motion effects active. While the reactivity to accel / braking may be improved with higher settings, the shudder effect is quite obvious, especially as this setting increases. Also, I noticed that the off-track surface motion-effects are no longer active (Dirt / Grass / Gravel traps, etc.). I look forward to further updates to AMS2 Motion Code!
