And to McRipHelmet, hopefully I'll get some time to play around later. This isn't just a Me opinion. I actually convinced my friend to buy it, and he has the same opinion. The game is nice, as i said earlier I think I actually prefer it to AC overall, but this is the one thing where I think "that ain't right".

I'll just quote this post I made in a separate "AMS 2 grass is too slippery" thread awhile back. It's a breakdown of Pato O'wards spin at Barber.

TLDR; while I do think there is some truth to AMS 2's grass being less forgiving than IRL, I still find that you have to use similar driving techniques inorder to get out of the grass in both real life and AMS 2.

The thing I note from Roar is that he says he believes you when he obviously doesn't. I don't understand why he does that but I won't do that. I won't lie to you to appease you. That's not what being polite is.

Someone saying you're wrong isn't impolite. It's not impolite to disagree with someone. But my initial post suggested to post a video. It didn't say you were wrong at all. You are wrong though. I think by now there's not much chance of you posting anything that would suggest your initial post is reporting a bug. You can convince me I'm wrong but you won't persuade me.

The next thing I note about Roar is - and it's relevant given the first reply you had - he managed, without using a safety net or any stooges in the audience, to post about 7 videos showing the problem doesn't exist.

Which, of course, you ignored and your next post still says the opposite. Without any effort on your part to demonstrate the bug you believe the game has nor give any useful details about what car or track or anything. If your friend has the game and believes it, ask him to post the details.

As for sarcasm about donuts you say things that are just not true. Not about this game. About real life. If there's a cult that believes physics IRL isn't buggy then, yeah, I'd probably join that one. And real life has cars that spin at low speed from throttle input.

The game is full of bugs - there's a huge thread full of them - there's no problem with the game having a bug.

Im going to assume if youre making 700hp its a turbo so little hp and torque out of boost Easy to drive. I can only say my 500hp K5 Blazer with 35 inch tires and 4.56 gears will spin the tires on grass if i barely touch the gas. But i built the motor for torque not hp at 7000rpm. I actually dont think the grass in AMS2 is far off.

Yeah, its 3L so not gutless down low, but it's not a big torque monster off boost. I'll experiment more later and certainly try to keep an open mind, but from what I've seen playing AC a lot, plus my real life experiences, I'd have to say it's AMS2 that is too slippery rather than AC and my own memory of real life driving on grass being too grippy.

For one last time i do want to add that I think I prefer AMS2 overall vs AC, this isn't an attack post, but in this one area it doesn't feel right to me.

To be clear, and trying not to end up being epistemological: I'm simply giving the benefit of the doubt until any data supporting the claim has been shown.

I also note that you described it as a bug, while MacAttack hasn't - to me it's more a question of whether or not a friction variable in the physics engine needs further tuning to better represent reality.

On a related note, now that the two threads have been merged I'll address a broader topic:

When comparing driving on grass behavior in AMS2 with other driving sims, keep in mind that Niels Heusinkveld has showed that AMS1, AMS2, rFactor 2 (and likely also LMU) have a different throttle response than most other driving sims, where the other sims need much more throttle input in order to produce the same torque. So if you for example compare how easy it is to spin on grass in AMS2 with 10% throttle compared with Assetto Corsa with the same amount of throttle, a much higher throttle% is needed in Assetto Corsa for the comparison to be fair.
Consequentially, it's easy to come from other sims with the different throttle response and notice how much less throttle is needed to spin on grass in AMS2, but keep in mind that the the throttle response has been designed to work like that.

The throttle is one of the things i noticed immediately when i started playing AMS2. It worked and felt like id expect driving a real car. Linear is probably the wrong word but it feels much closer to reality for me.
