FPS drops in LFM?

around 3h11 in the live, stutters engage for no apparent reason. Some tinfoilhat discussion there : it happened at around the time a lot of LFM sessions started, meaning lots of server instances are being created and lots of users connecting to the game at the same time, I'm doubtful, but well...

 

Apparently it might be related to shared memory

 

this is something that has been noted for sure . As that’s been a significant change to the loading process of MP .

that’s very inconclusive at this stage , so not sure it’s good to just start throwing it around as cause for no good reason. As it might actually not be an issue. But the rumour will say it is .

 

Those of you experiencing the stuttering issue, do you guys have HAGS ON or OFF?
If you have it ON, have you tried turning it OFF?
If you have it OFF, have you tried turning it ON?

 

It was discussed during that stream I linked above, shared memory was not active for that evening on his side. So not sure...

 

Hi. I have issues on lfm as well. Did clean install game, layest graphics driver etc. In single player everthing is fine even with many cars on grid fps drop but the image remain smooth. In multiplayer LFM precisely i get a lot of stutters, even in qualifying session where i have +100fps. Strangely it doesn't happen every race but sadly most of them. Graphics settigs or shared memory have no impact.

 

I'll ask this again, since I haven't experienced a single stutter in multiplayer servers. How many folks have Windows HAGS (Hardware Accelerated Graphics Scheduler) turned ON vs OFF? And has anyone tried to change their HAGS settings to see if the problem goes away?

 

hags do t even know where to find^^ what works for me seems to make a fresh start of Ams2 before joining Lfm, different weather, no prob 3 times now!

 

Tried both, same problem. Game mode full screen optimalisation, disable core parking etc tried most things that a stubborn simracer would.

 

There is not sure yet, bacause too less tries, but after I changed the registry in accordance with this link I have not experienced stuttering yet even in overcast weather. Automobilista 2 - Stutter And Frame Rate Issue Fix

Highly doubt such a convoluted process would resolve that issue, especially when you start tinkering in the registry. If it was a config related issue linked to set frame rate, you would get that issue constantly, not every other full moon... Last time I got the issue myself was on 5th of January, I did not change anything on my config. And looking at my Steam, I played about 46 hours, so... Yeah it is still pretty random, and I am still more than convinced that it is network/server/host related.

 

The registry file definetly helps, not had much races due to work but in the few that i tried since tweak i can tell for sure there is improvement almost no stutters. Thank You!

 

Hello. I'm starting to run in LFM and I have the same FPS problem. I have a 3070 with an R5 3600. The game is limited to 60FPS with a stable GPU load between 40-50%, but in online races the FPS drop irregularly around 30-35FPS, maintaining the same GPU usage. It is impossible to run online with this problem. Haven't you found the solution yet? In the end I will have to abandon ASM2.

 

Have you turned off shared memory? The frame has not tanked for me after I did this. I'm still slow but the game seems to run at it's proper speed.

 

Its mostly after loading the Race Session.
Seems to be something with cache.
I got plenty of resources left when it goes down to 50 FPS. luckly it is only for an half a minute.
You can reproduce it starting single race with 25+ opponents. You can screen it all in Afterburner

Im so happy to find this Thread before i started reinstalling my machine

Restarting before Race helps to not die in the first Corner.

I hope this gets adressed in the new update. I haven‘t played 1.6 too much because of this issue.
