Bug Reports - Automobilista 2 (Read the Opening Post)

    Track & Layout Used: Daytona Road
    Car Used: LMDh
    Applicable Settings: Tested in the dry, AI 106, all aggression settings before 1.6.5, High aggression with 1.6.5
    Report:
    1.
    LMDh class has trouble lapping in the Bus Stop. They used to have a big wobble when lapping GT3s at the Bus Stop exit in 1.6 - 1.6.4 causing a half spin or full spin - of course slowing the whole field down. Now with 1.6.5 there are 3 scenarios that happen
    • LMDh is well to the right of the GT3 - nice clean lapping, no time lost
    • LMDh right behind of the GT3
      a) THE WOBBLE
      b) doesn't move and gets stuck for way more than reasonable
    • LMDh to the left of the GT3 - stays behind for way more than reasonable despite plenty of space to the left after the exit
    2.
    LMDh when racing each other tend to take a lot of grass at the International Horseshoe without any penalty in stability or speed.

    3.
    Cars racing into the entry of the Bus Stop are very contact prone, but resulting in less spins since 1.6.5. Still needs some tweaks...

    4.
    Starting around sunset and into the darkness, there is SO MUCH dust being kicked up, sometimes even from the racing line with a couple of laps done. With the visual effect when we go through the dust it feels like I am watching Back to the Future and travelling in time multiple times every lap. Either reduce the probability of dust or tweak the intensity of the whole windshield glowing when passing through it.
    Steps to reproduce: Race Daytona with IMSA classes.

    And not to forget that the AI brakes way to much going into the busstop after 1.6

    Report: Climbing the mountain at the turn from the inner side, strange artifacts
    Note:drive any car and on the uphill climb on the inside of the turn you will see semi-transparent artifacts on the side of the turn Без імені.jpg

    Does this penalty only occurs when you a pre placed on track on the left side ?
    Are you doing practice or qualifying sessions prior and skipping sessions or just jumping into quick race ?

    Because out of 20 attempts I only had this bug appear once when placed on left side when trying to understand what your describing.

    Car Used: Doesn't matter as it affects opponent cars
    Applicable Settings: Single race without practice or qualifying
    Report: some cars have broken undershadow (look at bmw to the left). This seems to affect random cars and not just one particular car

    Howdy folks, does anybody have any solution to ai drivers disappearing in kart races? At about 30 metres away from your self, the ai driving the karts vanish and all you can see are the karts driving them selves like remote controlled go karts. Does anybody know if any LOD settings files you can change to extend the draw distance of AI drivers? I'm really trying to get back into ams2 especially the go karts, but it's hard when this happens.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Today's update... karts feel lovely, nice work... but had a few other notable issues.

    The start/finish of rolling start is before s3? And then one corner later... oops.
    20250124230249_1.jpg Also as feedback... the tracks with one two three four, and how it orders them 4,1,3,2 (alphabetically) is getting at my OCD, lol.

    Report: Kart drivers not rendered at distance, and karts looks really strange, more in VR. Old bug not solved.

    Applicable Settings: multiplayer race weekend (maybe any)
    Report: Some of the replay cams in TV view are all over the place, some ending up in the green. Also, in VR the order of the cams is somewhat fishy.
    Steps to reproduce: Watch a Spielberg 1977 replay in TV cam view.

    Track & Layout Used:
    no relevant (tested on 3 tracks : Interlagos GP, Gateway Oval and Curitubia
    Car Used: ARC Camaro
    Applicable Settings: no preset, Single race, Auto transmission
    Report: The car won't start. It stays in neutral.

    Confirming this issue, also applies to manual gearing. You can still use it with a rolling start.

    Confirming. It also happens in 3 spots in the downhill section (Historic version also affected but maybe not in the exact same spots). Third spot is in the final turn of the descent (image is too big for upload).

    Track & Layout Used:
    Buskerud Kart Short (and possibly other kart tracks)
    Car Used: Kart GX390 Rental & RACE
    Applicable Settings: Race, 23 AI @ 105 / High, starting last
    Report: AI is too slow to accelerate on race start, making it trivial to gain many positions. Other kart types are also affected but to lesser extent.
