Does anyone know if we will ever be able to get sound mods in AMS2? The interior audio is the one thing that keeps me from making AMS2 my #1 sim. It just sounds so bland.
As I understand it, Reiza already has a very capable (former AC sound Modder) on the team. Some limitations may always be an issue in regard to sourcing quality samples to work with - lack of funding (and time) or lack of access to real cars to record high-quality samples. Still, it's all WIP and hopefully will get more improvement going forward. I do agree that some of the car sounds could do with improvements, especially as the sound-bar continues to be raised with titles such as iRacing, AC Evo, etc.
My biggest issue with it is that everything sounds so muffled. There is no depth or aggressiveness to the interior engine notes. The exterior audio is a bit better, but still not great. The VRC and RSS mods in AC have some amazing sounds, I just wish we could get them in AMS2. Someone on the VRC discord commented that VRC isn't going to make any more AMS2 mods until they can use their own sounds. I think the other sound effects need some work too. The car scraping and rev limiter/TC sound effects sound like very low bitrate samples.
