So, EA announced yesterday that they will take a pause in rally titles and will not produce next official WRC game. WRC said that they are going in new and ambitious direction. I know this is more than optimistic but it would be awesome if this direction would be Reiza

My colleague's probably going feeling the insanity by now as I referring to Reiza Rallye so and then, hehe. :D I think it could be something for Reiza to step into.

I'd actually prefer BeamNG as a proper rally sim with additional logic for repair times etc in the game. It would be epic.
    Sorry Reiza team

The WRC license will not be cheap. Going to need a dev with deep pockets or who has friends in high places.

My boomer brain still thinks someday this licenses will be split into multiple games so that we can have multiple "official" games instead of just THE official.

You never know. WEC doesn’t seem to be a very popular game so the license should reflect the interest

Straight4 said their game is releasing with campaign from launch. Does anyone know if there is any PMR footage showcasing the AI?

No footage no, we don't know anything about AI, or weather, or Online, or the campaign..
But we do know the price of the game and the season pass :)

Hella off topic here but after watching the 6h of Spa I can't help myself but feel like one crucial thing is missing in AMS2. THE PRANCING HORSES (Not the Porsches). Is there any chance we get the 499p and/or the 296 GT3 at some point?

(this post is in this thread by mistake, but since there are already reations, I'll keep it)

I don't know about the framework*, just the end result.
rF2's AI cars do spin and have inertia that, to me, are much more like real cars.
rF2's AI have rage, oubraking themselves on the next turn after been overtaken .
rF2's AI can be adjusted by an included learning process (perhaps some sort of simple, but effective, machine learning algorithm). If, on a given track, they sistematically hit a wall or get offtrack, after the learning process they behave correctly on those spots - and the process is completly automated, no user intervention is required to pin those faults - it learn from it's own mistakes, getting faster and more reliable.
You can even adjust/create a different racing line (search rF2 AIW creation tutorial) on rF2, but that's not what I'm asking for AMS2... (keep in mind Madness Engine was made with mods in mind, so, my guess, it's also a flexible platform).

    * I don't know the code or method used but @Marc Collins says (above) it's fundamentally the same, giving me hope that the same solutions can be applied on AMS2

Marc, I have to disagree with you on this subject.
rF2's AI is much more human like with regard to driving line, behaviour and physics.
I cannot tell the difference between AI cars and my own on rF2, dispite AI's simplified physics model - if a car gets off the racing line (bumped, avoiding another car or simply bad driving) the cost of return to the driving like is huge, no mather if it's AI or our own.
On AMS2, AI cars (and sometimes our own) seem to have magic properties, presenting longitudinal and lateral accelerations that are simply impossible (too much grip or energy would be required to achieve those mass displacements).
I can point out dozen of these on a single 15m race. Is not something that only accours from time to time. That's, often, an immertion breaker.
After the initial lap (where all sims appear to have difficulties), try to overtake 4 cars on a single turn on rF2... on AMS2 they still have swarm behaviour, leaving the inside open for a late braking opportunity, every single lap!

However, I do recognize Reiza's job on the AI decision making process and hope they send more resources towards AI development (to me, right now, the weakest point on AMS2).
The recent topic created by Renato shows that my concerns are not isolated from AMS2's community.

Hey guys, does anyone know if it is a bug or "by design" where when watching a replay and you click on one of the camera options to view, it cycles through the cameras rather than staying on the camera you choose.

I had a long talk with chatgpt and it concluded, that 16gb ram will cause stutters in longer races in AMS2 if i have Fanalab, Crewchief and simhub running on my specific setup. Short races is fine and tops around 14gb ram use, but in for example LFM races it will sometimes need up to 18gb of rams depending on the amount of data it has to remember through the whole race, which will then cause the stutters and continue until the end of the race. It's description matches exactly what have experienced, so for those of you who still struggles with stutters, ram shortage might be the cause. CL16 and at least 3200mhz was it's reccommendation and 32gb is more than enough for most games.

I wouldn't trust technology that's not actually designed to give correct and verified answers. It may be right but it feels as trustworthy as a broken clock that shows a correct time twice a day

ChatGPT does not think, it reproduces words. If internet is full of crap, ChapGPT will only replicate that.
We can have micro stutters (I'm particularly susceptable to this) if we have a mismatch in GPU and monitor refresh rate. I have butter smooth experience at 72fps and can have terrible experience at 120fps (if the monitor is at 144Hz, for instance). Using G-Sync or FreeSync requires more than just put the option ON. Most are ablivious to this.

True. I teach literature for a living and some of my students used ChatGPT to write their papers. Well... AI created whole lines of dialogues and characters that are not in the books. Other times, AI simply wrote such vague and banal sentences that the papers failed on their own, I didn't even have to prove that the students had cheated.
