Is there a simple guide to setup with ams2
????

openXR just works with the other sims but it doesn’t see ams2

I mainly use fixed foveated rendering in the openXR settings for a lovely performance boost

 

When in VR... Edit HUD select HELP. All the shortcuts are there.

Guessing you're using a Meta headset then on link. You'll need this https://github.com/rodolZ80/bypass-oculus-detector

I think I’ll just leave it running in steam vr

seems like lots of hassle

 

it's literally just placing 1 dll file in the gamefolder, not sure why that's a lot of hassle tbh, if you already have opencomposite/openxr set to replace steamvr systemwide, that 1 file is all you need to put in place to make it work

Be good to use the openXR toolkit on AMS2 as welll

to my surprise though AMS2 looks graphically the best sim & also runs the best , but openXR will still be good for full control

tried, screwed it up wouldnt open in VR at all
steam repairing files

I best stick with steam VR

 

Same issues, when I launch the game in VR I get to the Reiza load screen and greeted with the openxr toolkit message.
Then the game crashes and I get a bugsplat

 

Followed this and it worked :

although stuck at 72fps looking for solution
( 90fps in other ooenXR sims )

 

All working great now in openXR with toolkit etc

I had to put hz to 120 then back to 90hz to get it running at 90fps , performance is rock solid , even at 120 hz / fps performance was good

Good to hear you got it working. Sounds more like meta software issues than AMS2 or OpenXR Toolkit though.

Incredible how well ams2 runs in VR
More so under openXR

 

Got it working too, I'll spend the next few days dialing it.

 

Do you really get better performance with openxr than oculus? I do not notice any difference in Iracing and never bothered configuring it for ams2

Well I think I can not use that (AMD 6950xt GPU). At least in Iracing I don't have that option

 

in the open XR toolkit you can switch it on
Then set as you wish

don’t think it’s gpu specific

to me it’s the biggest best feature of openXR toolkit, lower res sound the sides of view but I don’t really notice it

 

I remember reading some time ago that AMD cards were only supported for that feature for games that use at least dx12, that's why I dont have the option in Iracing (dx11 as far as I know). But I honestly have no idea what ams2 uses, I will check it out when I find some time to dial with VR setup once more
