Hi guys. As I only play AMS2 in VR (Quest 3) I use a wireless headset for audio sound.
Unfortunately I can’t achieve satisfying roaring loud engine sound when driving in cockpit view.

Maybe I chose the wrong headset for that purpose although I already bought an expensive one (knowing that expensive doesn’t always mean best quality). I am wearing a „Corsair Virtuoso XT Wireless Gaming headset“ with included „Dolby Atmos for Headphones“.

But even with ingame sound settings at 100% for engine it’s relatively silent and muffled.

When I use my external PC speakers I could pump up the volume much louder and the engine sound feels much better but I don’t want to disturb my wife and neighbours.

Does anyone have a hint for my headset or do you know other/better headsets or headphones (wireless please for VR usage) where I can get best quality engine sound?
    Are headphones better than headsets?

I already tried Atmos on/off, ingame headphone mix on/off, LFE on/off,…. It always sounds dull and relatively silent.

I don’t have a sound card in my PC but if I listen music with my headset on my PC I get loud, high quality sound…

Any ideas or solutions for best quality and loud VR engine audio in Automobilista 2?

Headphone will always sound better than a headset, I've gone through a few and settled on some DT990 Pro for good base and pretty good around sound. I now use the DMAS with Pinax VR and it's not quite as good.

I use the Beyerdynamic DT 700 Pro X with Sound Blaster Audigy Fx and I'll need ear defenders to go beyond certain volume ;)
Using them with Quest 3 and cable isn't an issue with the seating position. Can recommend.

Had a look but such a helmet sound effect doesn’t exist in the audio options…

IIRC - It's linked to the Helmet View in the View settings menu.

Been using DT 880/600s for gaming for 15 years. Haven't found anything to beat it.
