Would you mind sharing your wheel settings as well?

that is quite a bit of dampening both ingame and in your FFB settings. Are you sure that is the way you want it? I agree that FX can be a lot higher after the update to the default files.

Yes, before update, I used 8 for dampening in game, after update I now use 50.

Yes. I tried many settings and found these best.

Nah, in-game damping isn't the answer if you're looking for smoother, less peaky ffb.
I turned down the in-game "FX" from like 30 to 20 and that made a BIG difference.
    (regular Default profile)
Of course with a DD wheel you'd have more parameters to play with like inertia and friction which might help mitigate the notchiness.
A DD will also pick up finer nuances like tire scrub at lower settings than what I imagine you'd run on a TX(had a t300 before)
So I'd try lowering the FX first, in short.

I'm a big fan of the new default profiles.:hurrayreiza:

Thx for the reply, it isn't the FX and it's the same or worse with the Default profile. I have it at:
Gain 70 (I have some clipping but it's during jolts and stuff, which is fine with me)
LFB 5 (If I increase this one the understeer sensations slowly get lost)
FX 35 (This provides a fairly aggresive oversteer snap back , which I like)
Damping 5 (Increasing this makes the wheel increasingly feel like it's turning through oil).

I'm fairly certain it's the tire scrub which is the main culprit of my niggles, going through a long fast corner it's not only a constant force, but also a knocking / rumbling which is more prominent then some kerbs.

Hmmm... Yeah I think it's one of those cases where a one-size-fits-all kinda solution has to somehow work across a huge spectrum of consumer wheelbases.

Try that FX setting at 20 though and if that gets you nowhere have you tried Danielkarts custom files? I know for a fact there's belt-files in his collection.
And they tend to be much more subtle with forces than the default is, or mostly was imo.
Iirc page 451 of the custom ffb thread should point you in that direction.
I've used his files right up to the latest one for forever.
Reiza won me over with their latest default profile that still says "beta" in the hud if you cycle through it a bit.

I have a SC2 Pro. How to get rid of this feeling as if there is sand grinding between the gears? Ingame I have FX down to 10 and dampening 0.

Would anyone be so kind as to share their FFB settings for their Fanatec CSL DD (8nm) with me?

Unfortunately, I am completely unfamiliar with this and don't know where to start. I am still using the settings suggested on page 1 from version 1.4 :(

Thx again for the reply, I usually use an Rfuktor2 custom file. And again, it's not the FX.
Here's a clip I tried to make (apologies for the quality):

I start using a custom file, then switch to Default+
Though the quality is bad, it clearly shows the sawtooth pattern in the FFB while using Default+, oddly enough the scrubbing doesn't seem to be too bad when on the banking of the oval.

There are many such examples where the default FFB does really terrible things. It doesn't matter whether it's belt/gear or dd bases. Do the same test on the same track, for example with Formula USA 2023, it's even more extreme there. I don't know how people can ignore such things, but unfortunately it's true. That's why I've distanced myself a bit from Ams2, because such basic things still work very wrong. That's why I can recommend people to use a custom file, no matter who it's from: Stefanie,Kuku, Alegunner, Karsten, Joachim or myself. Of course that's not important to everyone and many don't notice such things, then it's irrelevant and you can forget about it. But for people for whom the handling and the FFB are important, I can only recommend trying it out with a custom file.

I tried the rfuktor ffb file with the Simucube 2 Pro base. It´s like 100% dampening and another 100% dampening on top + another 100% dampening. There is basically nothing besides dampening. Dampening in the Simucube software is disabled. I do almost only open wheelers.
