Good Morning guys, hope your all enjoying playing the Early Access version of AMS2! I am stuck in quarantine and am hoping to enjoy it as well however I am experiencing 2 problems...

The Degrees of Rotation are not automatically changing based on the vehicle I drive, for example the Formula V12 maintains 1080 degrees of rotation despite the fact it requires only 300-400 or something like that! So that renders an awful lot of cars un-driveable to me. I have poked around this, and other forums to see if its something that others are struggling with, or not added to the game yet however it seems to not be an issue for most of you! I have a Fanatec CSL Elite (xBox version), currently using the P1 rim.

My second, and much lesser issue, is that my G27 shifter, which runs through a separate USB and the Bodnar adapter does not seem to be registering in the game. Occasionally in the controller config screen it will say "Button not set, multiple inputs detected" I'm pretty sure this is an issue on my end, but just in case anyone else has experienced this I figured I would ask.

Any help would be massively appreciated!

    Maybe re-calibrate the wheel?
When I did the full counter/clockwise, than exactly 90deg in calibration, all cars have the correct, separate rotation.

    cheers

I have re-calibrated the wheel multiple times in both clockwise and counter clockwise directions. I'm going to try uninstalling and reinstalling and see if that helps. Thank you though.

This process is very very confusing, and i learned the hard way when i tested PC2...

    !TIP!
Turn wheel all the way to the left/right as indicated, but once you click next, the first thing you must do is spin the wheel back to center, before proceeding to turn it to the NEXT 90 degree mark. If you pay close attention the degrees # should match your wheel. So for example if you have yours set to 900, then the # should match to 900.

    Hope this helps!!!

Ok, I have it reinstalling as we speak, about another ten minutes or so. I'm not sure I've recentered the wheel before turning the 90 degrees so I'll give that a shot. I am making sure that the degrees are the same as my wheel. Thank you, hope it works!

in ams1, the degree of rotation parameter could be changed in the garage for most cars. AMC2 does not have this parameter. It's a problem for me, too. On formula cars you have to turn the steering wheel more than I do in the ams1 and this is very uncomfortable for me

That's the exact same problem I'm having, have you tried what John Caetano recommended? I'm waiting for mine to reinstall then I will give it a shot!

After a full reinstall, including deleting my previous settings, and trying every trick listed in this thread, nothing has changed. I'm pretty frustrated right now as it seems to be a great Sim heading in the right direction and I would love to try. Hopefully it will be sorted out soon and I will continue checking in on this thread but until then I am off to race elsewhere.

    Happy lapping!

Breakthrough! It was all my fault!!! I pretty much only race in iRacing, I run the Fanatec recommended iRacing settings on the wheel itself. After giving up moments ago I switched over to try a little rFactor 2 and was immediately greeted with the exact same problem I was having in AMS 2, realizing that the problem was on my end and not with the software I decided to change the easiest and closest variable, the Set on my wheel. With a simple change from Set 1 to Set 2 all was right with the world!! If no one hears from me in the next 14 days it wasn't Covid-19 it was AMS 2!

    Even Happier Lapping!!

I think the effect is enhanced by the fact that the game, in my opinion, has a tendency to understeer

True, but I am very much enjoying it, the fact that I get a 1:1 ratio now, real life vs. virtual wheel, I'm ok with it, easy enough to improve with a little bit of tuning and I think the tires feel far improved in grippiness compared to the obvious. It's an EA game so it will improve in time as well. I do struggle with feel under braking but again I think it will improve in time.

    Good luck with your understeer!

With AMS2, just one click on the rear roll bar has an effect on lateral load, so all you need to do is work on your front mechanical grip, its in there:D then to aero. You can do it :p

I really don't think this problem is simply about changing settings on one make of wheel, or car setup. The settings, tracks and default setups should work for everybody whichever wheel you have and whatever setup skill you have. Hairpins and tight corners on the tracks I've tried so far in AMS2 do require a change of setup to negotiate tight corners by changing geometry and making the car far more pointy, but that should not be the answer to the default setup of having your arms crossed beyond 180 degrees, not understeering, and still going very slowly indeed. To put it another way, the default wheel and car setups should allow anybody to drive around the track slowly (relatively speaking) and not to find certain tracks out of bounds because the hairpin is impossible without what many players will consider arcane knowledge, or they have to wait for somebody else's setup guide.

Whether it's a wheel calibration problem, a default car setup problem, or a mapping problem, or whatever, I don't know, but in real life the hairpin at Cadwell Park is very slow and no worse than driving into a supermarket car park a bit quick, and it's perfectly possible to do it without having to cross your arms until you think they'll come out of their sockets.
