    I just tried AMS2 for the first time yesterday and I'm pretty happy with it so far. (Particularly for an "early release" title)

    VR on my CV1 looks good, but I would like to know if there is a "sharpening" filter somewhere that I can tweak?

    AMS2 is a lot clearer in VR than PC2 was "out of the box" but not quite as clear as PC2 *after* they introduced the sharpening feature and I adjusted it.

    The sharpening "tool" in PC2 is a text-file-edit so not exactly user-friendly, but once it's set it's done.

    Is there, or will there be, something like this in AMS2?

    The sharpening appears to work the same way as in PC2, using the same files and values. I like the following at the bottom of my graphicsconfigopenvrdx11.xml :

    <prop name="SharpeningStrength" sharpeningstrength="0.500000" />
    <prop name="SharpeningClamp" sharpeningclamp="0.040000" />
    <prop name="OffsetBias" offsetbias="1.000000" />

    Hello mate.. you could have asked on the other side ;)

    It's exactly the same, just copy the setting from the PC2 file to the AMS2 one

    (graphicsconfigoculusdx11.xml in the case of the CV1)

    Thanks! I just realized that it put a folder on my C drive "documents" even though I have it installed on another drive.

    Can someone tell me what SharpeningClamp and OffsetBias do? Just want to know what I'm adjusting. Thanks!

    now you realised that many games save their settings in documents folder.
    Just have a look into it

    And what does it bring to the table? I'm not exactly unsatisfied with the current performance/visuals.

    For me it helps make out stuff in the distance. AMS2 is much better than PC2 was "out of the box" in this regard. But not quite as good as PC2 after I used the sharpening filter and tweaked it to my liking.

    The downside is that you can eventually sharpen to well-defined screen door effect. You have to find your own personal "sweet spot" and AMS2 may already be that for some people.

    Or maybe download oculus tray tool. It's free and has all types of setting's and profiles you can assign to different games.

    I find it really clears the image up, its 100% worth doing on the Rifts, cant say whether its worth it on the Index etc, im guessing not.

    I use these, basically leave the bottom two as they are but change the top one to 0.8, on the RiftS you might want to only use 0.5 sharpening.

    <prop name="SharpeningStrength" sharpeningstrength="0.800000" />
    <prop name="SharpeningClamp" sharpeningclamp="0.090000" />
    <prop name="OffsetBias" offsetbias="1.000000" />

    Please add to the game settings. A sharpen slider would be great.

    I'm using an Index and I'm actually using a 2.0 sharpening strength with MSAA at Medium. There's some slight aliasing on things like power lines or the tops of some fences at a distance but the increase in visibility and clarity is quite a jump.

    Really nice tips. I am enjoying the game a lot! The Sharpening thing worked good, however, shadows are the problem to me, even it at Ultra and AA at max and 1.2 in Oculus tray, shadows are too aliased and cause much disturbance. Any tips to smooth it out or antialiasing it?

    It does indeed work with monitors (and IMO worth doing), though you can get away with much lower settings. The file to alter is "graphicsconfigdx11"

    I've tried to do the above adjustments. But I don't have the numbers. My file just says FCT instead of 0.800000. Any ideas guys?. I'm using notepad++.
