Are some cars more dialled in than others?

Looking for the best few to try, I like open-wheel cars but will try a selection, what are your favourites?

I think most of the cars are great, but the absolute standout to me is the Sprint Race series. They look and sound absolutely fantastic inside and outside the car, have wonderful informative and immersive FFB, and AI who come the closest to giving you a decent race. They're like a mutated Renault Megane trophy, and already at this early stage they're one of my favourite cars in any sim.

I've been having a blast hotlapping a P3 - MRX Duratec around Adelaide in VR on a motion platform with a buttkicker.

Trucks are a hoot around smaller tracks too.

the Caterhams. they are very easy to drive, but you can still get them to slide, but can catch them.
they are also not so fast, which is good for getting to know all the brazilian tracks

If you wait long enough you will have recommendations for each car in AMS :D

Let me add mine, which I think are cars that are already top notch:
The Copa Classics if you like loud and slow.
The Ultima GTR if you like loud and fast.
The ARC Camaro if you like loud and small.
The P3 Roco 001 if you like a weird combination of an old chassis with modern tech.
The Copa Trucks if you like to understeer into the bushwork because you thought you could take that corner at 80kmh :)
Add to that the Sprint Series, the P1s and P4s.

True haha , it's a new toy and checking peoples recommendation is just fun. I'm new to AMS and the car selection looks amazing.

    Thanks for the ideas.

Are the Caths really all sequentials? Not even one H-shifted?
I mean it’s not really a problem right now as you can even drive the modern F1 with a manual shifter, just asking because immersion.
And to give a hint Reiza needs to fix the shift methods ASAP.

I drove the 620 two days ago and I'm fairly sure that is H pattern. I don't remember the others, but am fairly confident at least that one is not sequential.

Sadly all are labeled as sequentials.
But even the flappy paddle cars are, although they should be labeled as double clutch or something.
Hope they fix this asap and most importantly make only the appropriate shift method work.

Yeah, me too. I basically bought AMS 2 for the classic F1 cars. That gen3 of 1991 reminds me of F1 GP so much. We need liveries for that season.

I think we should ignore the labelling for a while. Most - if not all - cars are labelled V8 as well. The Caterhams looked like H-shifters to me, maybe the gear change animation was still missing?

EDIT: Oh, my favourite: Maybe the F1-V10 series.

Guys, is there any chance we will get a sorta 1990s Indycar in the game? Cars that used to be in the cult games that were Indycar Racing 1 and 2.
Currently i am reliving my teen years from the 1990s using Grand Prix by Geoff Crammond style cars around classic Adelaide. So much fun.

I’m having a lot of fun with this game. Funny how everyone seems to have completely different favorites though. Mine, so far, are -

    - F3 - so communicative and begs you to take it to the limit. Try it at Donington
    - P3 - I like how you can turn it with the throttle. Try it at Ibarra
    - Stock Car - just started playing with this last night and don’t remember the name of the track. Begins with a C and feels like an oval, though it’s not! Sound great. Very heavy FFB though - do these things lack power steering IRL?

All of the Caterhams, especially the 620R, Ultima Race, Gen 2 and 3 F1 cars, ARC Camaro, Formula V10. Fiat Uno. Last but not least, the P3 and P4.
