I play a t150 with paddle shifters with autoclutch on. With vintage open wheelers when changing gears there is a shift into neutral before moving to the desired gear, this is normal of course, except the momentary neutral state lasts much longer than normal ( with other cars). You get this temporary over-revving between gear changes which is not normal .I can take foot off the accelerator whilst shifting (as if using a clutch ) , but I don't like doing this, and this problem is only when using this class of car?? Any ideas why please?
If they go into neutral it means they are h-pattern shifters. You either want yourself to buy a h-shifter or Reiza must come up with a compromis for people who lack said peripherals.
This is how you have to drive them in all the sims. If I’m too tired / feeling lazy to heel n toe, I turn auto clutch on but you still have to release the gas to upshift because it’s auto clutching and you need to drop the revs for neutral. It’s the same in every sim, otherwise you would blow the engine. AC and RF2 in their h pattern cars and high turbo cars you always have to lift off when in auto clutch ? Unless I’ve missed an assignment editing hack ?
Going up the box you lift, but going down the box you are supposed to 'heel-and toe' when changing, as in braking with the toe of your right foot, clutch in, and at the same time blip the throttle with the heel to stop the revs dropping such that the rear wheels lock up when you let the clutch out and this in turn would cause the engine to over-rev and blow up. The over-revving the OP is hearing is because there is no automatic throttle blip on the downshift with the auto clutch. Other games, Assetto Corsa for example, have the option of having an automatic throttle blip AND a throttle lift when using the auto clutch, and if nothing else it makes for a nicer sound, not the scream of an engine about to die.
No, he's trying to shift up with his foot flat on the throttle, this is causing the engine to rev in neutral.
