I have been playing around with the Super V8 and Stock car at Goiania.. Does anyone else think these vehicles have excessive suspension bounce..? Judging from replays, and I have watched a lot of aussie V8 Supercars over the years, the vehicle attitude seems to me to be a little off. I can tell this track is bumpy in real life however if you look at the race on YT it does not align with what is portrayed in AMS2. If you view the stock Car in AMS2 and then watch the following clip you will see what I mean.. I must admit I don't know much about the Brazilian series. The springs are fixed set in the setup screen with a spring rate of 245 N/mm which is very stiff. Is this correct..?

@Coanda this is one of my main problem with these two cars (v8 and sc brazil). They are too bouncy. And this affects handling too (pandulum effect)

So i'm not the only one.. To me the Supercar has too much lateral roll. It doesn't look or feel 100% right.. A different beast, back in the day I drove a Alan Jones EB Falcon touring car around Calder Park for the day and that had a lot less roll than this..

anyway I am sure there will be tweaks to come..

Stock Car Brazil seem to be the worst for that bounciness.
I cant get a good world movement setting to make it easy to look at and it does seem to effect the cars handling too

I was already mentioning this. Yes, I fully agree with you.

Up the slow bump and fast bump 3 notch or so. Most of the bounciness will be gone.
My bad, but it works wonders in the Sprintcar

Stock Car does not have 4 way adjustable dampers. Stiffer bump dampers on the Super V8 did not mitigate the suspension oscillation. The front tyre on the Super V8 looks to have a fair amount of side wall flex under low to medium load.

Yes, Brazillian Stockcars bounce a lot IRL.
Also nothing wrong with setup options, fixed springs and gearing (also final gear).
These cars do have a short travel but you can length/shorten it a bit from default in case you need, see telemetry hud.
End of travel can only be avoided by a degree increasing dampers and ARB.

    Totally agree with Coanda.

The suspension bounce is too much.

I don't want to get into the car setup and modify it in a thousand ways, it should already be good by default.

They should reduce it, it's very annoying.

Sorry to say but a mod must reflect reality and Reiza does it.

I mainly bought AMS2 with Super V8 in mind as it is I series I enjoy and I do not own the competition for this vehicle.. The FFB and Physics have gotten a lot better since my earlier posts. Thank you and well done. That all said something still does not look and feel 100% right to me.

For example. Here is a 2nd gear 60 KPH turn on an out lap with full soft suspension and dampers. Look at the extreme front tyre flex. It is very unrealistic. The rim is almost touching the tarmac surface. Is this a visual issue or is it a tyre model issue that is contributing to the excessive bounce and roll? Or is it a combination of this and some of the surface meshes being overdone such at tracks like Goiania..? Or none of the above.. :D

Some dev input at some stage would be greatly appreciated.

First of all, I do love that avatar. I see Eddie as me!

I partly agree with your concerns.
IMO it is only visual but who knows?

You can make yourself some kind of telemetry check using [free] apps like SecondMonitor (excelent to trace spring travel and ride height) and SimHub.
[Edit] SH free version has limited fps, removed by donationware (lowcost) licensing.

AMS2/PC2 pass a variable named TyreHeightAboveGround01 (to 04) wich I assume represents each wheel Tyre Deflection and you could see it in SimHub. Unfortunately SM don't show this value but many others. The reported bounciness may be caused by short travel and/or short height, SM telemetry is your friend.

And finally, sorry to disagree: I don't classify this as a high priority issue. Lots of things come first.

I have not requested or labelled this to be either.. It's up to the devs how they proritise their development and if they wish to look into this.

Thank you for the telemetry info. I'll take a little look when I have some more free time.

I tried the Super V8 recently and it feels strangely weightless to me. Most curbs cause it to launch 2 wheels really high in the air. I'm sure I've read some stuff on the subject on this forum and they can be rolled over IRL IIRC but it seems a bit OTT to me.

They feel kind of weightless in general. In AMS 1 they felt like heavy cumbersome beasts. In AMS 2 they seem pretty nimble and not really understeery at all. Not sure what it is about the going on 2 wheels, the ease with which they do it and the way they linger there I guess or maybe the way they come back down... It just gives me the sensation the car is weightless :p Not a car I'll be driving a lot anyway so not a problem.
