Hello, i saw to day the Dedi is now in Steam Tools... Is it now possible to use him via Steam CMD too and how is the App ID if? THX regards Alex btw...i hope this is the right place to ask..if not sorry...
If it still not avaible directly through steam, send a PM to @Renato Simioni asking for it and he will sendo you the keys to activete it on Steam (That`s how i got mine).
I found the Dedicated Tool in the Steam list, but, the tool required a running Steam client and 10gb disk space! Is this the same tool i can request via PM?
So far it is! About the size, dont expect changes. And still needing Steam to run, only Renato can answer if its going to change.
In your Steam app, Click on the Library button and then Tools on the options that come from clicking on it. Then, on the list of titles, search for Automobilista Dedicated Tool.
Yes, there is when i found the tool, mmm, maybe depends on the area where the Steam client is? I don`t know, i can see the dedicated tool just after the Assetto Corsa one! BTW hello Qazdar, i remember you racing in our server
I think it might not have been available for those that got AMS through previously owning AMS - please check again now, AMS Dedi tool should be included in that package. Regarding size, it is indeed 10gb now as the Dedi needs most of the game files to run. Finally it also needs to run through Steam as we use the Steam matchmaker, without Steam the server won´t be listed.
does this sentence include steamcmd? for OP: dedi server tool appid: 447760 right now I get crashdump launching through steamcmd
Didn't want to open a new thread for this, but: If I run the Steam Dedicated Server Tool it still counts as Automobilista running in Steam, which means I then can't start AMS via the Steam client. This seems weird since AMS and the Server Tool have different AppIDs.
I run the dedicated server on a second computer and play the game on another with only one steam account. I log into steam on the dedi server then run the AMS server and kick a race off. I then log into steam on my gaming rig and run the game. I get a message telling me the client logged in elsewhere will be logged out and the game starts up. After a few secs, right enough steam logs out on the dedi server but the AMS server keeps running and I can restart it without getting the crash dump so long as I leave steam open on it (but logged out).
All you got do is start/restart Steam in Offline mode on the PC that is running the Dedicated Tool. It will still run the tool without any problems and you can play normally on your machine.
That doesn't really help if I'm hosting and playing on the same machine. You can work around it by starting AMS directly via the executable, but this issue should be solved properly by making the server its own "game" as far as the Steam client is concerned.
If you are running on the same machine, you can start the tool from steam and the game directly from the executable on the game`s installation folder. This won`t trigger the steam warning.
