It works really well in VR , i used it when i played pC2 with my CV1 , it really fools you into thinking you are wearing a helmet . Probably the helmet cam visors best use case ! Really really cool in VR
Yeah, will try it, but as I said, with wearing my Rift with its narrow field of view I already think I‘m wearing a helmet (which I indeed do ;-))...
This makes it better though imo , i used a CV1 also for a year . But even now in triples it works well.
Actually, it doesn't really add any more restriction. The face guard blocks your view directly downwards, but there's nothing to see down there anyway apart from your legs. The view restriction left/right is still the headset, not the visor overlay. I'm using a Rift S with the "halo" system, and having the helmet active definitely adds to the immersion.
DOF is disabled and FOV is not an issue since I have forgot to mention I am using VR mode with Rift S. Do you have performance impact with helmet cam ?
For me GPU load houses up about 6%. Im capped at 60fps, load goes from 60 to 67% switching from cockpit to helmet cam.
Sorry to bring this thread up. New to ams2: Whats the main difference between Cockpit Cam and Helmet Cam? Only the Helmet Overlay?
VR and TrackIR usage as well. As far as I know either one only works from Helmet Cam, whereas Cockpit Cam doesn't have freelook. (At least that's the way it is for TrackIR, maybe VR allows freelook for other cameras as well?)
I think the helmet overlay is the only difference yes. Maybe some extra effect like blurring with extra speed but I don't know.
