hi guys, can you share some tips for braking in order to not lock the wheels?!? It seems quite difficult to me...thks
Your brakes are probably too cold. Toggle on the Telemetry view Go drive a few laps If too cold; turn down your brake ducts Drive some more Better braking? Good Now you can fiddle with brake pressure so it won't overheat and/or also brake bias. No more locking
Easy way i test it is to take the car out to do a race, if at a fast corner and my brakes lock up. i go into the pit and brake pressure down 5% till when i slam on the brakes they do not lock. Then from there i will either go back up a few percentages as i would like it still to lock but only when i give it 100% brake and then i modulate it so im close to 100% so they dont lock up. Better than slamming on your brakes at 80% and they lock up already...anyway i find it to be the simplest.
Yes and no. If the brakes are cold the braking will be weak and not optimal. So you are likely stomp onto the brake, so your wheel lock up. By driving a view laps and see if your brakes are too cold. You reduce the brake ducts, so they get warmer, so the brakes work better, so you're not stomping onto the brakes because it takes ages to slow down.
Brake pressure should have nothing to do with brakes overheating. The only thing that should do is make them grab sooner in the pedal travel and lock up sooner.
