Hi, My specs are i7 4b10-mq CPU 16GB Ram GTX 970m Sli i'm getting good framerates, But shouldn't I be getting GREAT framerates? In traffic I get between 50-70fps, in my mind, it's not high enough for this game with my laptop. On an open road I get 100+ fps. But should I be getting 100+ ALL the time? As a comparison, i get about 150fps when playing Race Injection in traffic, and 300fps when less traffic! Even high graphic games like Project cars I can have on high quality and get 60fps. I've looked at the graphics set up instructions in the manual, and downloaded invidia inspector. I'm playing the game maxed out of course. I thought I would get 100fps EASILY in this game even in traffic. Please advise? Thanks
Agree, sounds a bit low to me too. I don't know if AMS have any issues with SLI configurations but have you tried turning it off? Also what cars are you running? I've read that some are getting poor frame rate with the new Boxer.
Sorry for late reply. I tried allsorts of cars. And vsync is off. The framerates are a bit better these days though. But still sometimes drop to sub 50.. which is ridiculous for a 970m sli .. oh well, on average I'd say it's about 100 now though. Also, I set the anti aliasing to max, but It still looks pretty blocky.. and if i set the texture quality to maximum, the road looks like it has millions of peices of shiny glass on it, reflecting as you drive along - very distracting. I had to put the textures down to medium to stop this horrible effect happening. So, my framerates are better, but not perfect. The anti aliasing does a poor job and leaves the scenery all jagged looking. And the textures on max look like the road is full of glass. Dissapointed. With these problems I just can't be bothered to play the game much because the quality is not high enough and it distracts me. I have Live for Speed also, and that game give me over 300fps, the anti aliasing works better, and the texture doesn't have that horrible shimmery distracting effect even on max quality. I don't understand why Automobilista doesn't look good with my set up also.
I've managed to get the aliasing abit better, by upscaling my display then downscaling again to 1080p. I'm only getting about 45 - 50fps though, and it can get a bit stuttery also. How can this be!? A 970m sli and Autmobilista can't run smoothly. It seems no one has a solution here either? It's a shame becasue the game could be very immersive, but I personally cannot stand playing games with low framerates or stutters. For such an old graphics engine, I can only conclude that this game i s very poorly optimised. Yes, I'm frustrated, I'm frustrated becasue I want to play it.. but.. read above why I don't!
I know it isn't helpful but I get a steady 85fps (locked) with an nvidia 750 ti (2gb), i3 6100 3.7ghz dual core and 8gb ddr4 ram. Looking at your PC it is way above my specs so I guess that isn't the problem.
Yea.. It's not cripplingly slow, but It's just not near as good or smooth as it should be. It's a shame becasue I really want to get my teeth into this game, but it runs about worse than project cars for me, which is obscene given the graphical difference.
I tried disabling the SLI, it was even slower. Then I did the opposite, I enabled extra anti aliasing in the nividia control panel not to replace but to 'enhance application setting'. I thought this would probably make it slower, but no, it seems much smoother now. I don't know what exactly happened, but I can play this game now with little stutter and good frame rate. This game is very immersive - definitely a keeper. I'm just glad I can play it now without the graphics bothering me Thanks for the suggestions.
I found this alternative guide: Steam Community :: Guide :: Automobilista: AA & graphics Now, my game no longer has the poor anti aliasing, thing slook very smooth ! Now I can enjoy the game, and boy, is it a good one !
