So basically now with every update I go around Donington, first with the Ultima GT then sprint, V8s and Stock car. If the weight, road noise and kerbs feel ok I try the lightweights copa cars anf f3s

Of the recent custom files I've tried on my CSL Elite (PS4), 'Connecting the dots' probably works best.

I only tried it very briefly using the P3 Roco at Oulton National, and it felt pretty much spot on. I had the in game settings at 75/50/50, and I felt it might need a little less LFB (I'll experiment with that later).

Some of the recent files felt a bit like driving on gravel, but this one presents a feeling of warm rubber on tarmac -great work. Thanks again to all that have contributed to this. I wish I had half of the brains you have!

Also, giving the files names like this is really helpful.

    @Karsten Hvidberg
(real_road_lfb_ratio 0.2-4) I get a heavier wheel with a bit more kerb, little but more with weight compromise.
(real_road_details_lfb_ratio 0.4-8) Harsher scrub but more kerb, little again but more kerb, big scrub compromise on this one.
(road_fx 0.4-8) Didnt do much neither.

I also tried to combine them and destroyed everything.

    Santos,

If you are willing to test something, you can try to adjust these:

(road_scale_old 0.0) #medium road effect, affected by speed & front tyre oscillations.
(road_scale 0.0) #soft road effect, affected by speed & front tyre oscillations.

They are not active right now, since I think the real road lfb works better.
But maybe one of them helps you.

First try changing "road_scale" from 0.0 upwards until you hit 1.0. Maybe try 0.5 first.
See if it feels better & also where it might be bad.

Same for "road_scale_old", but only up to 0.5. So start by trying 0.25.

We might need to do something entirely different, but will help to understand better.

    Cheers!

The Real Road effects work fantastic in combination with my motion setup. My rig is unusual for a D-box setup in that my wheel is mounted stationary (independent of the Race-frame), so these ffb-effects perfectly support what I'm feeling through the suspension now. (I'm still on yesterday's custom version).

    @Karsten Hvidberg
First Thanx for your work, best FFB for your latest version.
Since i have a completly different wheel as you and the folks here,my is a belt driven Thrustmaster TS-PC Racer. Can you tell me ,what you think about in game custom setting for use?
I have it at Gain 55 LFB 60 and FX 75 wich feels pretty good to me.
I don't need Engine/motor vibration,i had this off in Raceroom. If it is possible to tune it mor like Raceroom FFB i would be glad.George Ortner has the same wheel,so he uses 20% Damper and 2-3 % Min.Force in RaceRoom, maybe this can help you to know what i mean.;)
Keep on and Cheers from Germany
    Chris

    Hi Dady,

In the file there is now:
    (engine_scale_at_start 2.5)
    (engine_scale_at_speed 0.0)

Those are used to set engine vibrations scaling from 0 to 120 kmh, so at 120kmh & above there actually are no engine vibrations now, as they are overwhelmed by other forces anyways & better to save the wheels "bandwidth" for those things.

If you don't want them at all, then change (engine_scale_at_start 2.5) to (engine_scale_at_start 0.0)
You can also adjust them in any other way you like of course:)

    Cheers!

This new file is almost nirvana, cornering and braking feels great.
I fiddled with a couple of things, one was lfb - I put that to 1.0 as it felt loose in the centre. I'm also running 70 lfb on the slider which seems totally wrong but it works. All i'm missing now is straight line feeling, not getting any undulations although i don't think they're there in default.
Anything I can change that won't affect the other aspects too much?
Here's the file if anyone wants to try.

    Alright Karsten,
Sorry it took me so long but I changed my in-game base FFB for this file so many times that I couldn't find one to do a proper analysis of kerbs.
Just so know where I am at 70.100.55 - Feels great at Donington and Curitiba with the Ultima GT, V8 and sprint. I used Donington to fine-tuned the track feel itself (bumps-road noise) and Curitiba oval for the kerbs in the end.

= (road_scale_old 0.0 to 0.05)Almost no difference. (road_scale_old 0.0 to 1.00) complemented your changes nicely, I feel like I could go a bit higher maybe close or to 1.5

= (road_scale 0.0 to 0.05)Again almost no difference. (road_scale 0.0 to 0.05) Could feel the Kerbs better just like with the Old road scale at 1.0, but too bouncy, even down the straights it would bound off the bumps on the road.

Just a quick note, even without altering these parameters I had a kerb feel but some kerbs were now coming through as heavy as driving over painted green/blue parts of the track. The rumbling was gone and it didnt quite feel right.
Im gonna take a break, and after play around with the road_scale_old from 1.2 to 1.5)
Thanks for your help mate, I hope it is understandable :D

You can try turning down the road speed/rumblings a bit,
    change (road_fx 0.4) to (road_fx 0.3) or lower.
    Maybe that helps?

Sadly no, but turning lfb to 100 starts to help if that's any use to you.
This is in the f309 by the way.

Hey mate, so I just read your message and since we are in the same gear I thought I send you my provisional settings, I also felt too loose on this set so I went up to 100LFB and overall 70,100,55, with the tweak on (road_scale_old to 1.00) I got the undulations back and kerbs, this is a starting point if anything, I feel like I need to go up to around 1.2 or maybe 1.5.

If you have the time and struggle with LFB in the file give this combo a try its a decent alternative!

Is there any thread to Direct Drive OSW wheels? Could not find it. Would like to check with DD owners their FFB setup.

This is great, hopefully we can arrive at good settings for each wheel.
    dd
    csw
    ts-pc / csl
    tx300 & tx500

would be awesome to have in the file, or maybe we simply have the same file for each with only difference being the settings in the file.

You can use this thread, just post info for:
    * your wheel
    * you rcurrent settings
    * info if you use default or custom ffb

And I think somebody will jump to help you out.

@F.Santos thanks for the info, it's really great @Karsten Hvidberg and @NuScorpii are taking the time to help us "belties", I really appreciate it.
It looks like with this new file we need maximum lfb, if we could tweak something to boost it enough to go back to around 50 or so we'll be golden.
    I'll try your tweaks now.

Yes, it is, you can try going higher on "detail_exagerate_scale", which is currently set at 0.0.
It is an additional hack to exaggerate the low details if you need that last boost.
Start by maybe 0.2 and go up or down from there.

Hope you'll soon find more luck with it.
But it REALLY depends on the track you drive too.
Maybe test on Donington or Brands Hatch, to be sure you're not on a non-detailed one. If you ever explode the values so much that the flat ones come alive, you will not be able to run those that hold details any longer :)

This likely should allow you to lower the LFB yet again, if it works for you.

I have tested some of the settings posted earlier and found out (at least as much as i can interpret all of it) the following:
    - LFB must be on 100
    - (detail_exagerate_scale 0.13) is a great option to boost all low effects
    - (road_scale) and (road_scale_old) must be 0.0 or i loose the back scrub
    - i run (min_force 0.06) or max 0.08 so i can boost the feeling in the center in a straight line. This adds more to all FX, but will differ from wheel to wheel
