Did you delete the settings for the game in your Documents folder after you got the newest update?

Did some practices and couple of long races yesterday with the P2 at interlagos (24 hrs cycle) and Super V8 at Kyalami in the rain and all i can say is ...
    B r a v o
(the dots are definitely connected :D)

    Massive thanks.

    Yes, I always delete them.

It's strange because before 0.9.2 it wasn't the case, as well as I never had this issue in AMS1.

What in game FFB settings do you use? We have the same wheel.

Thank you @Karsten Hvidberg & @NuScorpii for your continued work on the FFB! The addition of all those variables has made it far easier for those of us who have little idea of how to rewrite things ourselves.

I've spend the afternoon messing with the last version Karsten posted and have finally got something which feels as good to me as that old profile did. Better actually. I now have a nice balance of base feedback, road feel, and scrub, as well as curbs which have been missing since New Default came along. (Curbs are still weaker than I'd like, but I can't make them stronger without raising other things along with them.) Just tweaked the scrub values to match those in NuScorpii's lastest file too.

A couple of questions for you:

    - Is it actually possible to increase curb vibration as a separate value somehow, or is it always going to be tied to the road effects?

    - There's a lot of "smoothing" type stuff in the FFB file. I have no idea what it all does, but is this literally a smoothing of the effect it's part of? If so, could belt-driven wheels perhaps benefit from less smoothing so that smaller effects don't get flattened?

    - What does this do:
    Code:
    (stock_rack_lfb (lfb rack 0.15))
    (stock_rack (blend stock_rack_lfb_bias rack stock_rack_lfb))

It's in the NuScorpii file but not the Karsten.

    Thanks guys!

Haven’t changed anything but will double check and report back. Worth mentioning that FF on the wheel is set to 75 and the latest fanatec driver 369 is used.

Goffik I got the Kerbs back by raising the value here:
(road_scale_old 1.2) #medium road effect, affected by speed & front tyre oscillations. (It was 0.0 on original file from Karsten and it didn't seem to change anything other than adding Kerb)

We are working on the same file. Just use the latest from either of us. :)

That's going to be pretty difficult as the curb vibrations come through the steering rack.

The smoothing only works on low speed < 10kph or is used in a calculation but not directly so no it won't have an affect on belt wheels.

It's just a way of moving back to the old rack style without having to use a different LFB file. It's the old rack_lfb hack. To use the rack more as it is in the default profile you can set stock_rack_bias to 1.0 instead of 0.0. Values in between will blend between the two. It's more for debugging really.

What wheel base and setting in game do you use?
Also this is very car dependent, with which cars did you have this issue?
In general I agree I think the biggest work load Reiza is facing is the physics now. If they are to add a gt3 car or similar they will face very stiff competition and comparisons and prob. don't want to be put too far in the "toy" corner, so hopefully it improves leaps over the next year.

Thanks mate, I'll give it a try tomorrow. That's one of the few settings I actually didn't test... probably the "old" part made me subconsciously ignore it. :D

I know, but my file is now heavily tweaked to my preferences. It was much easier to just edit two numbers to match your changes rather than tweak everything again. ;)

Thanks for the answers too. :)

Love of scrub is a step in the right direction for me, feels tighter in the centre.
    :)
Changed a few things that now cause a bit of clipping on extreme forces that's not showing in the HUD so I'll reset and start again.
    Getting there though.

Do you have a thread going with your files or are they in here somewhere?

Thanks Mate, this is a 60 page thread, wouldn't it be better to have this in a thread of their own?

Probably. Having an updated file posted in the OP would be a lot easier than searching for it every time. Actually, they'd need to co-ordinate so that one makes the first post, and the other the second, so that they can both post their own updates! :p

Agree but OP is a post by Renato so i think they need to open their own thread and update as you say the first and second post with updates ;)

Yeah, we definitely need to have a dedicated thread. We'll discuss the best way to do that...

And as apparently it is #ffbwednesday here's another FFB update with enhanced kerb feeling - "Kerb Your Enthusiasm"

To control the kerb effect strength edit this line:
    (kerb_scale 0.5)

Values should range between 0.0 and 1.0

This is a somewhat canned effect, but it does match reasonably well with the audio kerb vibrations. I tried enhancing the kerb feeling through the rack but it made other things feel pretty bad, so I think this is the best way to enhance just the kerbs.
