Here we discuss the custom FFB files, share settings for various wheel bases & iterate to improve what we have.

---- Custom ffb file installation information ----

    1) Download the file.
    2) Rename it "ffb_custom_settings.txt" if named otherwise.
    3) Copy&replace file in to the "Documents\Automobilista 2" folder.
    4) Restart the game completely.
    5) In game, go to "options -> controls -> force feedback" and set "Type" to "Custom".

You can always get the custom ffb file that corresponds to "Default" type back by simply deleting the file from the folder again. AMS2 will create it on next restart.

    Silver Raw
    ----------------------------
(For the PC2 version, please go here: Silver Project Custom FFB)
    ----------------------------

Please note that "Silver Raw rFuktor" files use the damping slider for "power steering", so the higher you put it, the less force will be generated in cornering.
This feature makes the FFB center vs cornering force adjustable both by LFB and by gain/PS adjustments. LFB does it one way, gain/PS another, so there are many combinations to find a sweet spot for both car & wheel base.

A complete 2nd FFB alternative version. Made possible by the help of numerous people and comments in this thread as well as direct contributions by Reiza's @Domagoj Lovric as well.

    High end file: https://forum.reizastudios.com/atta...ngs-silver-raw-rfuktor-4-6-bug-fix-txt.15748/

    ---- Silver Raw rFuktor 4.6 ----

    Posted 25/6-

    - Velocity is felt building up better. Adjustable values "velocity_res_scale" & "velocity_res_offset".
    - Caster trail & pneumatic trail used from the physics engine. This makes more variation between cars and also more sensation variation for each car.
    - Adjusted grip loss feel to come in later, more precise.

    - LFB changed: Now adjusts center_full up to 10% slider position and then the real LFB from there on top. Also it no longer indirectly adjusts gain & damping(power-steering). This makes for more adjustability. Important to remember to adjust damping slider(power steering) more now.
    - Decreased bump exaggeration for more natural feeling.

As always this high end file is selected, adjusted and finally ok'd by @Panos Schoino and @Shadak, thanks guys!

---- Silver Raw muscleFuktor high end file ----

    - Posted June 10 2021.

    - Latest high end file.
    - Picked the best parts from the experimental files & adjusted slightly.
    - Adjusted forces higher, so you might have to turn down gain a little.
    - Fine tuned by @Panos Schoino & @Shadak.

    (Updated with new file)

---- Silver Raw rFuktor 4.4 all wheel bases ----

    - Posted May 17 2021.

    - Latest high end version(DD, CSW, CSL) fine tuned by @Shadak and @Panos Schoino.
    - G-series and other low level wheel base versions by @Stakanov and @Peter Stefani.
    - T300 file by @Kuku Maddog.

IMPORTANT: The rFuktor file is using the "Damping" slider not for damping, but instead for power steering. So the higher you set it, the less force on cornering and downforce.

--- Specifically recommended settings for CSW by @bandqit using the high end file ---

Here are the settings I’m using with 4.4 on my CSW 2.5. The only thing I’ve changed in the file itself is “kerb_bump_scale” down slightly to 2.5, and “scrub_scale” to 1.4.

    Wheel settings:
    Sen Auto
    FF 90
    Dri -02
    Fei 50*
    For 100
    Spr Off
    Dpr Off
    Sho 100
    BrF 70

    In game:
    Gain 55
    LFB 10 (+/- 5 depending on car)
    FX 35
    Damping 50 (+/- 10 depending on car)

*I find having the FEI setting lowered on the wheel and higher FX in game gives a better feel. Higher FEI values bring in a kind of high frequency buzzing for me.

    ---------------

    Files:
    - muscleFuktor, high end file, mostly suitable for DD's & very high end belt wheel bases.
    - All rFuktor 4.4 files, one zip.
    - rFuktor 4.5 experimental high end file, maybe only suitable for DD's & very high end belt wheel bases.
    - rFuktor 4.5 experimental 2 high end file, maybe only suitable for DD's & very high end belt wheel bases.

    Updated 05/07/2020

New Custom FFB - "Heavy Messing" (NuScorpii)

*** For gear and belt driven wheels try increasing the min_force value to 0.06 or higher.

    V2.5 Update:
    * Changed centre functions to give a more ACC soft notch feel to the wheel that moves with vehicle dynamics
    * Use the "tightness" variable to adjust width of enhanced centre
    * min_force will also affect the tightness so adjust that to suit first
    * Provided 2 Heavy Messing presets - detailed and smooth
    * Minimalist version with just enhanced centre, dynamic damping, and nonlinear clipping

    V2.4 Update:
    * No functional changes, just adding support for the Madness Tool custom ffb manager

    V2.3 Update:
    * Toned down traction loss and front load effects. Gave too much feeling of loss of grip on understeer leading to slower laps times.
    * Revised detail scales for better balance.
    * Tweaked bumpstops again and fixed a bug where an uninitialised variable was used.
    * Fixed a few small bugs that could potentially cause divide by 0 errors.

    V2.2 Update:
    * Revised tyre adhesion code to make it more consistent across vehicles.
    * Increased range of intermediate sigmoid functions to provide much higher dynamic range for higher powered wheels. (Use lower gain and up your wheel strength)
    * Various variable tweaks to improve feel and consistency across cars.
    * Clipping now performed after the gain is applied giving full range of output.
WARNING - this may produce large peaks of force on DD wheels.

    V2.1a Bug Fix:
    * Reset experimental variable that was causing cornering forces to be too high.

    V2.1 Update:

    * Added tyre adhesion based grip feedback. Makes the steering feel lighter when the front loses traction e.g. understeer and lock ups.
    * Adhesion effect strength can be controlled using adhesion_scale.
    * Revised details balance so road texture and bump details are not as harsh.
    * Increased brake effect slightly on the rack to provide better feedback on braking.
    * Added LFB 0 work around "fix". FFB won't spaz out with LFB set to 0.
    * Added a damping parameter so users can make the wheel give more resistance to turning, can also help with oscillations: overall_damping.
    * Histogram now outputs full range all the time.
    * Revised bump stop damping to decrease bounce back.
    * Increased the affect that the FX slider has on the road texture and bump details.

    V2.0 New Release:
    * Completely new way of clipping the signal data using Sigmoid functions. This will enable high output gain to be used with very little chance of encountering flat spots in the force feedback.
    * Bumpstop code changed to have a heavily damped buffer so there are no hard hits or bounce back.

    V1.02 Update:
    * Added some damping to prevent wild oscillations at standstill due to the lack of damping in AMS2 0.9.6
    * Added an output smoothing variable output_smoothing which can be increased to smooth high frequency details if they are too harsh

    V1.01 Update:
    * Updated code to find static weight in a reliable way. Gives a more constant value and stops odd changes in ffb weight.
    * Tweaked variables for slightly lower engine vibrations and road noise, better brake feel.
    * Updated rack_damping_scale from 0.9.6 release (Fix for hard right issue)
    * Load and brake based rack force amplification
    * Gyroscopic forces
    * Kerb effects
    * Scrub effect
    * No fake road effects, all road texture is from the actual track

I updated the file above again as there was a bug with 0.9.5 and a comment. WTF!? A comment broke the custom ffb file...

Updated the file in post #3. This includes some changes that I was working on before the 0.9.5 release. Should work better with a wide range of wheels, tested by reducing wheel strength and running with different levels of gain and lfb up to very high values.

This new file is almost there for me except the notchiness around centre has returned. It goes away when I reduce lfb but so does the self aligning torque and straight-line feel. Any suggestion before I grow big ears and get a craving for carrots?:)

    Alegunner,
The detail boost is quite brutal in this one as set up right here, so that's possibly it.
I will likely post a return to how it was before in reg. to those later.

You can try lowering ingame fx until then.

Too late guys, I'm down the hole..
Changed a few things and I'm almost there for me personally.
I'll post the file in a bit if you want to see what I changed.

Loving this new file with the FFB 9.5, it took me about 5 min to find a sweet spot, and now I'm just changing to see what else is there, but its perfect really good to have the option of using this file with the games FFB.

    For reference for now: 70.70.50

I'm happy with this one now, managed to tweak it to get a good feeling at 60-70/50/50 which leaves loads of leeway either way.
It feels nicely balanced between straight line and cornering feel, the f309 feels amazing to me.
    Happy bunny:)

Hi guys, thank you for all your hard work on these custom files, and for sharing them with us.

I have a question to you: Would it be possible to have one version of your file, with all your added variables, but with default feel?

I ask because now I like the default on my wheel, but I want to tweak it a bit to increase some details and I think it would be easier to use all your added variables to do it.

    Thanks!

That's pretty good. Works for DD too, can feel the vibrations through the pedals (although the downstairs neighbours will be complaining :D )
