Since release of v0.96, I installed AMS on a dedicated server in another state. The dedicated server won't launch without my steam account being logged in on that machine. If I do that, I can't race using the same account on my home pc. Does this mean that I now have to have 2 Steam accounts, each with their own copy of AMS in order to run a dedicated server as well as race?
No, You don't. If you look at Steam Tools, you are going to find the Automobilista Dedicated tool to install. This means that you dont need to have the copy of the game to use the Dedicated. And also, on the host machine, after you installed the tool or even the game, just click on the Steam option on top left and then Restart in off-line Mode. This way you will be able to start the Dedicated executable (from the folder or shortcut) from the host machine and still be able to Play with the same account on your machine.
there is no dedicated server tool in the Steam Tools list. I will try the offline mode to see if it will work for me. thanks
Same here, I have 10 servers with 10 separate installs that I update via steamcmd. Running your steam account in offline mode on the server is the way to go.
Hi, I would like to host AMS Dedi on my server with SteamCMD, how shall I do it please? Whats the command to run? Thanks!
I'm not sure because i've never tried, but i do believe it works in a similar way from the rf2 one. You can use the Downloading and Installing section from this guide: Comunidade Steam :: Guia :: Setting up a Dedicated Server Only need to get the AMS Dedicated Tool ID from steam (400300 is for rf2 ).
