I think this is a technique issue on my part, but Im having a heck of a time figuring out what to do about it. I find that at least 2 out of 3 lap, going through turn 5 / Sito Pons, the long sweeper going into the long back straight, just after corner entry the back of the car just instantly loses 100 percent of rear end grip and I just violently fly off the track with almost no warning. Whats curious, is I dont recall having this problem before, but I've also gotten a lot faster and more aggressive with this car at all the tracks as I've gotten used to it. I find it to be almost too easy to drive most of the time, but I tend to push pretty hard and lose it more than I'd liek to admit when trying to improve personal records. But even so, I havent experienced this insanely dramatic tendency to just fly right off the track anywhere else in the game that I've used the Formula v12 (Brands, Kyalami, Spielberg, Kansai, Adelaide Montreal, Brazil, probably others Im forgetting) In any case, everything else feels fine, I just get the impression I'm a little too aggressive going in. I usually just let off the gas and assuming the rear end doesnt fly out, I drop a couple of gears and accelerate from 4th, but is there maybe a bump there that I cant see/feel but the car is reacting to? I am SUPER aggressive going into turn 8, 9, 10, etc and I never have problems with those and thats the same track with the same setup. I love how the FV12 drives, but this is driving me crazy. Is there a bump? Any suggestions? Anyone else have this problem?
No issues when I tried it. Can you confirm you are using the default set-up? And, assuming you have no video, can you turn on the racing line to more accurately describe where exactly in the corner this problem is occurring? I tried taking tighter, normal and wider lines, but without a common reference, it's pretty hard to know where to look.
I know what you mean, Going from the left curbs turning in the corner crossing to the right.. trying to get close to the curbs.... you are on the bottom of the climb.. Surfing on the throttle.. suddenly your back breaks out Edit: i tried the V12 on several tracks. and it seams to break out more unpredictable than it did before, I think something is changed. Something you can try: I think you bottom out, first raise your ride height to make sure you are not skidding. Then try to to raise your front springs and lower the back springs Then you can try to raise front slow bump and lower back slow bump.. (Try to get your setup right on Interlagos Historic outer, the second corner is a great trial for your corner stability)
I went ahead and reset everything to default setups again to be sure even though it already listed the default setup, and it does feel a little different, maybe Im imagining it? It deifnitely still does it though. Problem is this curve definitely feels to me like you should be able to take it almost flat, but I can get through it pretty easily, except when I take it flat. The car doesnt swap ends on me the way it seemed to before, so I think there is something that goofs a little on the setups, but it definitely steps out pretty wildly. This is with my Kyalami setup, since I am half a second off the current record with it at Kyalami, not that there's a whole lot to it, I just know the car feels good at Kyalami, and it holds through sunset flat out: And this is the default Jerez setup, skip to 3 minutes if you want to see turn 5: I do a warm up lap, then a hot lap where I take Turn 5 conservatively, then lap 3 I try to go flat. Normally I'd just say, fine, you cant take turn 5 flat, but its not like Im running out of track here, there's plenty of room, and you can watch me take any of the other high speed corners here at Jerez (the reason its such a fun track!) with minimal drama. It gets slidey at times but I love it. But turn 5 it just happens so quick and it seems unrecoverable. It's gotta be a bump in the track. This is one of the surface scanned tracks...
Thanks for video--it helped a lot. In the first video you are nowhere near the maximum load of the car at that point in the corner, so it has to be bottoming-out or a track glitch. I assumed it was happening at the point where we are just hanging on for dear life much later in the curve
