It's annoyingly low, i find. It's too big and too dominant. Would want it smaller and out of my immediate view or at least positioned higher. I find It negatively impacts the cockpit view experience as it is now. Not sure if anyone else shares the impression, though...The car is fine otherwise, so i find it unnecessary to taint the experience with such an awkward design choice. Furthermore, I google ''copa montana onboard'' and i don't see any mirrors hanging so low. Please consider positioning it higher and a bit more out of immediate line of sight. Smth more like this: Cheers
Jan, that's not the actual model we have on AMS right now. That's the 2011 car, which has a different design.
I don't know, man. To me as a player, this is not a pleasant sight. It's like watching a movie while i drive. To me, it's too obtrusive. If i could i'd move it or remove it altogether.
IRL I can't imagine it would be against the rules to make a minor mounting adjustment to the interior mirror, so I don't think it would be "unauthentic" to make an adjustment. As a concession to the fact that it's much harder to see in a sim vs IRL, I would like to see the mirror raised enough so that you don't see the windshield above the top edge of the mirror. And it doesn't appear to be an officially licensed series, so there's no problem there.
I didn't even notice the mirror when I drove the Montana the other day. Will have to keep an eye out for it next time... Your in car shot looks like your seat position is very high, which would accentuate the mirror being so low. So, I jumped on and took a screenshot of my view. I am running triple screen, so that would make a difference, but if you lower your seat, it should help.
Yeah, i like the seat a bit raised. Get a better feel for the car that way. I can imagine a triple monitor setup improves the situation, yes.
If it's authentic, why change it. It's always strike me as funny, guys want hardcore sim, but arcade features
You think wanting a minor adjustment to the mirror position is an arcade mentality? https://neitessari.files.wordpress.com/2012/03/f_2012_montana_tc3a9cnico-site_.pdf 20.4. I don't speak Portuguese so I had to run this through Google Translate: 20.4. Rearview mirrors: All cars must have a minimum of three (3) mirrors mounted so that the pilot has rearward visibility of the car and on either side thereof. These mirrors are: - External: Required use of two mirrors brand Metagal RTHE57CR - One (1) placed in the internal upper part of the front windshield at the original location of the model production, or attached to the chassis internal structure. Unlike F1 regulations, which specify the range of the size and position of the mirrors down to the millimeter, I suspect these rules allow the position of the interior mirror to be adjusted by quite a bit to suit the driver's taste.
I agree with @Jan Mikuž, the same theme with Marcas Renault + Honda. When in doubt, this is a job for Tommi-Tag, if he would do it and it's permitted. I prefer a mod for this. U can drive with original mirrors or not, it's your choice. Like the boxer LCD mod.
Yes, I agree. These are the remaining 2 AMS cars where the cockpit view visibility is insufficient for me. However, with the Honda and Renault it's more the diagonal roll cage tube that's in the way, not the mirror. Would love to see it tweaked on the Honda, because I like the look of the dashboard/interior very much. But it's unusable for me atm, because i can't see the right turn apex. I don't care about the Renault (can't look past the ridiculous dashboard ).
