    The tire model is just crap. It could theoretically be fixed if everything were adjusted absolutely perfectly, but that's extremely difficult to do, and it's just not going to happen. This is the reason Niels likes the simpler tire models, and most likely the main reason why he chose not to work on this iteration of AMS.

    I gave Reiza the benefit of the doubt, but they weren't able to come through. They've clearly put in a lot of hard work, but the tire model they were given is just too bad to be saved. I'm uninstalling and not looking back. I'll probably still be playing AMS 1 for years to come.

    For the sake of sparing myself carpal tunnel, I'll simply refer you to that video of Niels explaining the trouble with physical tire models.

    The tires are terrible at the edge of grip; they get sideways far too easily, but mostly refuse to put the car into a full-out spin. There is a lot of twitchiness, like the back ends of cars are swinging pendulums.

    Similar trouble occurs with empirical models, as soon as you try to apply noise corrected tyre data, that has to be additionally corrected for the sim. (Especially over the "peak" of grip)
    I don't really know, if you really understood his explanations.

    This can have many reasons, not only tires...btw. the Retro refuses to get sideways in default setup very often...
    Which cars, the F-Retro? Which track, weather, setup choices?

    I'm quite sure I understand his explanations. Of course it takes talent and know-how to make an empirical model work. But it takes superhuman perfection to make a physical one work.

    All cars in all situations have the exaggerated tendency to step out under power. There is a self-correction that keeps the cars from spinning all the way around. Of course this is more noticeable with higher-powered cars.

    But yes, I am aware of the severe off-throttle understeer a lot of the old formula cars have in tight corners.

    I would jump for joy if I were proven wrong and a future update fixed the tires, or if it weren't the tires at all. I don't want the game to fail as a sim. But I'm certain I'm right, and I've never been so disappointed to be so.

    Or the physics of the game are completely wrong or the telemetry you are representing is completely wrong.

    The figures of the dowforce should match (or at least follow) the speed figures.

    Maybe the rake change on the braking produce those peaks, however they seem to be extreme compared with amount of total downforce.

    The shape of aero forces is simply defying any law of physics from any point of view.
    Also the derivatives of all the signals are so wrong I feel nausea just looking at them...

    Kyalami is such a tough track to me. Your car control has to really be on point through some of those, but I cant believe how much better the cars handle now.

    Race at Kyalami was crazy. Personally not too shabby: 9th out of 20 and Crimson didn't lap me. This class needs an own dedicated championship. When there's more historic tracks that suit the class. So much fun. A class with a steep difficulty level and rewarding to master. Seems lots of people have difficulties with these cars, so it might trap them into becoming loving it and being good in them. :D

    Well...uhm...i say they are massively fun, as soon as you get into it.
    But they still feel quite strange, i stand with that. :p

    The sunset at race 2 was causing me problems, it got choppy and I bumped into someone, apologies to whoever that was.

    However, I went to Spielberg in TT and I cant get within 2 seconds of Crimson... I dont know what kind of magic you have going on there but I just cant even get close.... I have to figure out how to get a lot more exit speed out the rindt curve somehow.
