Fellow Logitech users. Do you have the following issue? Each time I start the game, the brake pedal is very, very sensitive and not reading the full scale. In other words I simpy breathe near the pedal and bam, it hits 100% in the calibration menu. The fix, every single time...Is to calibrate the pedals, save, then calibrate them once more straight away. Pressing the brake pedal hard each time. The second time shows a very different, more scaled input. Much less spikey and sensitive. Is everybody else having the same issue?
Im not sure this is the same problem - but I have heard(read ) That some Thrustmaster guys has a similiar problem with their brake. But they can solve it just by pressing the the brake fully inside the Thrustmaster wheel/pedal setup BEFORE they start AMS2 up. Dunno if this can help you.
Short answer at the bottom of post Not specifically the same. Had weeks of issues with g29 potentiometers. 1st was intermittent brake coming on at various levels and not releasing. needed recal worked for a while then repeats 2nd throttle not reaching full or not shutting off. same as above 3 game will often not recognise wheel or pedal between sessions (game bug imo) Ref 1 swap out the clutch pot with brake pot. recall all good (clutch pot very little hours use) lasted a while Then remove and take apart pots and clean tracks. again short term fix Ref 1&2 potentiometers worn. probably 1400hrs so no supprise. In short new pots req Bought 10 potentiometers for £6.00 (as us imports were £25!. from a usa reseller 3 pots that should only cost @0.60p at most) They had round shafts that needed a "flat" file into them to fit the gear in pedal. They only gave 50% of pedal movement solution set sensitivity to 100 (default was 50) Meantime ordered the"correct" pots set from the states. Fitted. So much for direct replacements, they only gave 49% on calibration and had to remove a lug and mod to get that. Set sensitivity to 100 as above and then deadzone to 14 to eventuly get 100% throttle and off throttle when released. Short answer new pots Cheap are as good as "correct" from USA. Both required modding a bit Panel Mount 10K POT USA ones from Digikey these are the same as the reseller but direct from digikey 450D103F7 CTS Electrocomponents | Potentiometers, Variable Resistors | DigiKey
Yeah I've had potentiometer problems before on a different (Logitech) pedal set, they really are cheap crap. I was in a long discussion with one of the guys at Logitech, trying to get him to at least supply replacements or offer upgrades, better quality POTS...But he basically said it will never happen. The issue I have is on newish pedals (Although it's always happened with others on all madness games) and is the same every time I start the game. More a little annoyance than anything. PS: @Maser V6 I got my PC issues sorted, reinstall of GPU drivers fixed all sorts of problems. Indeed, it seems like some sort of calibration issue between softwares (Windows and controller specific) and the game. Operating the brake pedal in the calibration screen is clean and linear initially, just very, very sensitive as though the scaling is incorrect. Once calibrated twice (Once after the other) it's fine every time.
Yeah thats the reason I guess your potientiometer is OK. Because if it was was because of wear and/or "spikes" then it should be impossible to callibrate away.
