well that’s kind of the opposite to my experience ..
It may be vehicle specific perhaps. as the new gte cars feel ok but the Gt4s seem to behave oddly like the timing is off .

What LFB setting are you using?

rFuktor 4.5 experimental 4 (skipped 3), high end version only.

    * More aggressive timing on the front feel.
    * Slightly more aggressive on df calc.
    * Slightly lowered large bumps.
    * Slightly sooner slip feel, but then slightly slower progression.

Still experimental, plan to combine 4.4's way of LFB with 4.5's way for the final 4.5 file at some point.

In earlier version we had much more texture & micro bumps, but it gets tiresome when doing longer sessions.
But you can easily bump both values up in the file if you want it. Also the kerb surface has a value you can adjust.

Dumb question, but is the beta public access? If so, how do I download it? Also, where can the notes about the new FFB/physics be found?

I'm running the rF4.4 and it feels ok to me. What I don't like though is the tire squeal doesn't seem to match what I see and feel. I've only tried the Vette at Daytona, but the tire sounds don't match what I see and feel. I had to ignore them to get good times.
I will be trying the other cars later today.

I just tested it and with the latest file (the experimental) it sounds OK, just about when the tearing starts to be felt in FFB, I start hearing the tyres.

I just ran with the Porsche and the BMW and I didn't get any odd tire sounds that didn't match what I see/feel. I'll try the Vette again later tonight.

It’s not available for new testers, it was for early backers of sim.
All the info about physics is in first post about update under announcements page on forum.
From what I read the ffb hasn’t changed, only the physics , which seems like they have reduced the pendulum effects and centre of gravity quite a bit.

Tried a superkart tonight and it feels terrible with rFuktor 4.4 had to go back to default settings, I see there is a "is kart" section in the file might have to play with that, what happens if I just remove that whole section of the file?

Karts have always been an issue. There physics are a bit broken.
I have softened things a bit inside my 4.4 tune . but kinda lose interest in them when tuning as they don’t appeal, so not much motivation to figure out.

I use rFuktor 4.4 (beta 3?) tuned by Stakanov. Using the same settings as before the update, the wheel in general feels a little weaker with lesser details coming through.

I’m finding ( very frustratingly) that many of the cars that used to feel really good consistently over a long period, now lack a lot of feel. Some don’t give anywhere near the grip loading they had and before you know it, your under steering into a wall.

First 4.5 file feels great to me with the new update. Think I prefer damping at zero.
Having problems with my vram spiralling out of control so can only get a few laps in before it crashes.☹️

I just tried 4.5exp4 but for whatever reason, I do still prefer exp2. If you were to ask me why, I don't think I could subjectively give you an answer. Just a feeling thing. I will stick with Exp2 for now. Keep up the great work Karsten & Co.

Think I've managed to breath a bit of life back into things for me , by mostly just strengthening the core scales a little.
have adjusted for new slip positioning from latest 4.5 too

I think just in general you chase and change yours far too often to get a proper reference point and even to the point of confusing yourself.

The ffb is stunning now. Maybe there is slightly less movement and detail but the cars are slightly less lively and the center of gravity is lower don't forget. In fact they were too lively prior to the patch. But thank goodness they're not down at the boredom of ACC levels.

This is the patch we had to have. It's way more normal. I think though in places they will make things more jittery at speed depending. Still the patch was much needed in my book. Cars are not meant to be unstable. They have 4 wheels and 4 brakes. Yes at acceleration they get jittery and you can unsettle powerful cars even at low speeds. But in normal operation.

I'm using 4.5 exp the original. I think the whole game including the ffb improved. But yes if there's any more I will try too
