i personally run AA on low in VR, and in pretty much every game that isnt VR i have AA off.
i guess i just focus on more important things than some edgy fences :D
and AA doesnt seem to impact the shadow quality anyways, which are the only somewhat annoying thing

Well it does, just it always in replays, especially in the first lap or two, especially in bad weather.

Didn't buy a 3090 to run on low or medium settings.

buy another one and hope that u run stable fps

question is, if gpu is even the problem, could be the cpu 'struggling' in situations
could also be just trash code that dumps fps

I believe that SLI is pretty much dead these days. This has to be the first component I have bought that has actually appreciated in price too, was around 3200aud when bought in December and are now around 1000 more!

Crazy hey, even my 1080ti going on 5 years later still up near or higher even than the price I paid (msrp, lol, who pay msrp nowadays) at launch.

Sorry should have read $1000 more! Think I should have held onto my 1080ti a bit longer, would have been able to hock it for far more.

out of curiousity i looked up 3090 sli benchmarks, the fps increase is still pretty significant aspecially at very high resolutions
seems to average somewhere between 60 - 95% fps increase

but tbh both my cpu nor my gpu are running on high usage while playing ams2, so i doubt an extra card would change anything

I think it depends on the game as sli does not work well on all games. rf2 is a good example. A number of years ago when I ran sli rF2 actually ran worse with two cards than it did one, I don't think that has changed. If I let my fps run uncapped I get between 180 - 200 fps with a full grid in clear weather at daytime. Add in any other weather, nighttime etc and it drops accordingly.

What resolution and FPS and PC spec are you playing with/at?
At 5760x1080 my 1080ti hits 100% even when capped at 60fps if I set to certain time of day and weather, ever since getting the 10600k that has become more obvious how CPU limited I was with the 7700k where I would see GPU usage staying lower and FPS still dropping. These GPU limited spots now where the same spots I was CPU limited previously.

I found the best solution to improve the overall cleanness of image in AMS2!! All it took was a graphics card upgrade. Seriously, even at the same settings i used on my old card just swapping it out for a RTX card cleaned up the image massively. I think it is the higher framerate that made all the difference because i cant see any difference in screenshots but in motion it is like a sharpening filter is being applied but without all the sharpening artefacts :) I have made some settings changes just because i can now afford to, i raised MSAA to medium, put everything else to ultra except environment reflections (medium) and shadows (low) and as long as im over 115 fps it looks amazing. I can still notice the shadow aliasing but it isn't anywhere near as bad as at 60 fps and night time shimmer is still a problem, but i don't race AMS2 at night for this reason. Nothing but Reiza are going to change that (hopefully).
Oh, i've remove the MFAA and FXAA in NVCP also and it still looks better.

I have a 1080Ti for sale should anyone want it

I have a 3080 laptop and always had everything maxed out. AMS2 has always looked very clean to my eyes.

I do believe laptop screen size would help having such high PPI.

The god tier upgrade for a clean image is a 4K monitor.
It also hugely improve details in the distance, which becomes less muddy.

Depends on size, my 40" 4k monitor looks only marginally better than my 27" 1080p screens, my 55" 4k TV looks possibly worsen even though ppi is the same.
Size, ppi and distance to screen makes all the difference ;)

Yes of course it depends on display size. I had in my mind regular 27" and 32" 4K monitors, but especially 27" since it is what I'm using.

I just hooked up my 40" 4k monitor to compare to my 27" 1080p (5760x1080) screens and truly having 120-144fps at 1080p(5760x1080) makes movement clearer than 4k 60fps! Sure the 4k screen may appear crisper in stills but at speed the higher fps makes a massive difference! I have now become a fps whore :p Now im imagining 4k at 144Hz
If my old 4k screen had G-Sync it would be around 100 fps it seems but the tearing isnt great so need V-Sync.

So for me the "god tier" is high fps! Even the crowd at Daytona which looked grainy at 1080p (5760x1080) 60 now look clear at 144 fps.
Loving having my new GPU. fps is king.
