TLDR
JustRace is a portal and free server software that helps communities organise and schedule events. It's 100% free with no adverts. It's created by sim fans and for sim fans. Its primary aims are to make the task of running a community significantly easier whilst bringing racers together for great clean racing.

How JustRace Helps Community Admins

• Support for 6 leading racing sims including AMS1 and AMS2
• Schedule events in advance from a few minutes to several months
• Dedicated servers start and stop automatically - No need for an admin to be present or for someone to advance sessions at the right time etc.
• Free JustRace Server Manager software that controls your dedicated servers and provides many quality of life features such as automatic updates of dedi servers when game devs release an update
• All you need is access to a machine with a good internet connection and a static (or rarely changing) IP address. This can be an old laptop on a home internet connection or a server in a server farm. We can help advise on servers as we have experience in this area and can recommend servers from the company we use.
• We also support Amazon AWS servers including automatic starting and stopping of the server to minimise your Amazon AWS costs.
  
• Driver registrations managed and limited to the maximum grid slots configured
• Custom subdomain YourCommunity.justrace.net with logo for your community. This creates your own section of the JustRace portal where drivers can easily browse, register to and join your upcoming events

• Drivers can easily register to events on the portal and once the server starts join with just a single mouse click!
• Drivers do NOT require any software. Just access to a web browser. We do offer a "JustRace Client" for advanced users that allows scripted starting of any program the users wants (CrewChief, etc) when they launch into a game from our portal.
  
• Drivers get a "JustRace" safety rating and ranking and these can be used to restrict access to events if you wish
• Automatic processing of results files and browsable on the JustRace portal
• Support - We will help you as much as we can, right from recommending and configuring a bare bones server through to voice chats etc on discord to resolve issues - Please remember this is a free time project and we do have jobs and families
• JustRace is designed for you, as admins, to use as much or as little as you like. Just use it for to manage your events from start to finish or just use the scheduling part and manage registrations etc on your discord (or whatever you prefer). JustRace has just moved our portal to a more powerful server and to overcome technical issues on our older server. Link previews in discord now work again making posting details of an event as simple as pasting a url.

Our website is also more responsive and quicker to load.

Just before our server migration we also released a new version of our JustRace Server Manager (JRSM) software. The major new feature (along with various bug fixes) is the ability for JRSM to update itself and game dedicated servers automatically when new versions are available. This is a huge quality of life improvement for admins and they no longer have to franticly install updates shortly before events when a game update is timed badly.

 

Update: 6th March 2022
We have added support for SportsPlay mode for AMS2 to JustRace. All fully automated. Users do not need to enter steam launch parameters etc. Our system does it all.

The only restriction is that to use sports play drivers must register and join using the JustRace portal. If they don't then they would have to manually enter steam launch parameters for each server they wish to join.

This new feature also works with our existing automated ability to choose VR or standard video mode.

Please Note
SportsPlay mode hides the server from the normal lobby list. Those that wish to join the server must launch AMS2 with specific command line arguments which the JustRace system automates for you (one click join of servers).

The Stock Car 2022 and the Formula Ultimate Gen 2 are available to configure on JustRace for AMS2 events.

JustRace Championship Management
We are hard at work implementing Championship Management to JustRace. The current JustRace site runs on old technology as we started work on this back in 2014. So we have committed to upgrading the site to new technologies as part of implementing Championship Management. One of our devs has made a video demonstrating our progress so far:

Keep in mind that we develop JustRace in our free time and we have families and jobs. We have made great progress but there is still a lot to do!

Simple Port Forwarding for Dedicated Servers (UPnP Support)
As internet speeds improve more and more people are able to run dedicated servers and communities using their home Internet connection to host servers. This can be difficult to setup if you don't have experience with networking as both firewall rules and port forwarding are usually needed.

Our JustRace Server Manager (JRSM) software already opens up the required ports in the windows firewall automatically. The next update will add UPnP support. What this means is that if you enable UPnP on your router and in windows then JRSM will manage all the port forwarding for you. This makes running dedicated servers for those not up to speed on networking much easier and about as close to "click and drive" as it can be.

We are still working on the JRSM update but hope to release that in the coming weeks.

JustRace Server Manager Beta Release Adds UPnP Support for Automatic Port Forwarding!
Yesterday we released a beta version of our JustRace Server Manager (JRSM) software that adds UPnP support. For those of you interested in running dedicated servers over home Internet connections this is a great feature. Not only does JRSM open the required ports in your firewall but now it also port forwards them through your router!

If you want to host races but don't have a lot of networking knowledge then this update is for you!

Automatic Practice Servers Now Available for all JustRace Supported Games
Setting up a practice server a few days, weeks or even longer before an event is now as easy as a few button clicks. Our system automatically clones the "main event" and adjusts a few options to create a practice server that stops when your event starts (to avoid any racers remaining on the wrong server by mistake.

Update 16th June 2022
The public release of UPnP support has just been made available.

You may not have heard of UPnP but it makes running a server over a home Internet connection easy!

With the increase in performance and reliability of home Internet connections it is often a viable and cost effective option for communities to run their server from home and avoid the cost of a server in a server farm.

In order to run a server at home you need to configure port forwarding rules on your router to allow traffic into your server. UPnP takes care of this for you!

Configuring port forward rules is one of the most frequent support issues we get at JustRace so we are hoping this new feature is useful to many.

As always JustRace is completely free with no adverts, created by simracers for simracers.

Calling all AMS2 Community Admins

Would your community like to take part in an Automobilista 2 Community Cup (AMS2CC)? Does great clean racing with drivers from each community battling it out in a team championship peak your interest? If so then read on!

A Great Opportunity for Great Racing!​

AMSUnofficial (the community I run along with developing JustRace) took part in an Automobilista 1 Community Cup (ACC) way back when ACC did not mean the racing game!

It was a big success and I thought it was about time to bring that community racing spirit to AMS2.

I already have 5 communities wanting to take part and have space for 1 or 2 more. If you are interested get in touch with me (J Turn) on the AMSU Discord

The AMS2CC Basics:
We have just started the task of organising everything but here is an outline of what will happen:

• Between 6 and 8 teams / communities
• Each team choose a combo with races once a month.
• Depending on the number of communities taking part and track capacity, each team will field between 3 and 5 drivers with the top 2 - 4 scoring.
• Races will be on Saturday evening EU time using an EU server. Exact time of day etc to be agreed
• Focus is the team championship. Drivers can be swapped in and out as required (down to availability or preferred combos).
• There will be a drivers championship but primary focus is the team championship
• 1 or maybe 2 drop / void races (depending on number of races)
• Events organised using JustRace on a powerful EU server to give maximum consistency and reliability.

I would just like to say how good the JR system is.
My community have been struggling along hosting rF2 and AMS 2 servers for what seems like an eternity. It worked well for us, but it was very hard work as anyone doing it knows.
When i first heard of JR, I was hesitant for lots of reasons.
But, it has simplified everything we now do, and with the upcoming League Championships built within the website, its any Admin's dream.
And the team at JR listen to what the members want and make things work the way we want them to - technicalities dependant of course.

Yeah, i totally agree, its a very well working system, and the new UI will make life of admins even easier, great bunch of people who dont mind to give personal support when needed, and as you said as well, they really listen to the members/users, and basically achieve anything within the possibilities of the chosen sim, JustRace is not the limiting factor for people running an league, the game of choice is.....

Keep up the good work guys, i sincerely hope Reiza will get more involved with your platform as well, in terms of hosting scheduled races at some stage.you guys certainly would deserve that.
