massive fps drop in VR on some tracks in night races

Hi guys, i have an i9 10900k with 3080ti on reverb G2. No matter what settings i drop down on some tracks(hockenheim for ex),during night races fps drops massively in VR(using 60fps option).I use the same settings and on other"magic" tracks everithing works during night and rain.
I think is definitively a problem of optimization, hope reiza coukd sort this

 

I ve observe the same behavior with my G2. Track were there is a lot of illuminated objects on the Side of the track have this behavior.

I have a i5-12600k and a 1080ti. Even on Day some track require more processing Power than others like Hockenheim ( I guess as my Config is less powerfull it is more obvious on my side). Overcast is a FPS Killer as well.

Automn scen, trees whitout leaves seems a FPS Killer as well.

 

the problem is that with the same settings on some tracks i butter smooth on night and rain, on other tracks, also lowering a lot the settings, is a complete mess in the fps.Hope someone can solve this and optimize the"bad fps" tracks...

 

was a problem in pcars 2 also, it's when cars are behind you normally, i assume it's the headlights

 

think the lights from cars shining everywhere brings a pc to its knees
be good to have an option "rear car lights" on/off so lights can be seen in the mirrors but not their beams on surrounding area, shame though as it does look good ...maybe 4series cards could handle it

10900k , 3080, Quest2

 

Yesterday we had a race on Donington formula 3 ( no headlight obviously) Day, rain and fog ( Very low vis) .. mix of AI and players. ( +-15 cars)

Curiously the FPS was as good as clear sky... So I guess the issue is headlight and distance of rendering effect

 

So maybe reiza guys could investigate this...the sim is seriously becoming more and more fun and beautifull.If someone has some tricks on how to solve, please tell me

 

You are perfectly right my friend...I did the same with formula cars and with heavy rain and no ligjts everything is fine. I also did another test: in light rain ,i have choosen gt4 cars, the ai do not turn on the lights during day races and infact the fps were goog, when choosing medium or heavy rain, lights on, big fps loss. SO THE PROBLEM IS WITH THE LIGHTS OR REFLECTION OF LIGHTS

 

Yes its a known problem (that was not always there) Beta has an improvement in fps for a different scenario, so hope they can crack this 1 as well, as wet and dark is/was great fun and challenging.

Hello, even with my 4090 is not playable. Only with 70% of the resolution the reverb g2. But in day conditions it can go much higher about 140%. It have to be a bug, because in project cars 2, does not a matter if you drive gt3 car or open wheeler in the dark/rainy conditions. Ok you will say is the same engine and not the same game, including calculations of physix etc. but after the race started and the grid is far away, the frame times get from 15ms down to 7ms… so it’s not the particles it’s something others. i watch a YouTube Video, witch Someone says, that reiza fixes some bugs in the madness engine. So I think they fixed and open new one like the headlights issue? Please guys find a way, that we vr users can be set 4 random weather slots and time Multiplikator 60 to have fun. It feel so wrong only in best conditions to race.

Turn graphic settings down to min & effects to off for VR , then with a 4090 you’ll have good headroom & a good VR experiece

I have a 3080 all min/off & bit rate reduced but solid 90hz brill experiece pretty much any scenario 99.9% of the time ( wet & night with many many cars there can be few minor glitches )
