Mario cart, was this the first best Driving Game?

    Ok so Im sure most of us have heard of and played Mario Cart, but in your opinion and thinking way back, the first real driving game experience, when there was just a Gamepad.

    Colin McRae 1 & 2, ofcourse.. Sega Rally... Need for Speed Underground 1 & 2.. Maybe some F1 97 or so. :p

    Mine was an early F1 game on the SNES...

    But Mario cart was good for what it was...

    Ultimately though the first best racing game has to go to Geoff Crammond...

    So first for me and maybe worst of all time Days of Thunder on the Amiga 500.

    After that I have fond memories of Stunt Car Racer.

    Then Lotus Esprit Turbo Challenge

    But I think Gran Turismo is the one that really made me love racing games.
