Gamepad Support - Analysis, Suggestions, Wishes

Does RaceRoom play well on the Steam Deck? I haven't tried it.

and that's why, if people (Renato for sure) haven't figured it out yet, proper gamepad implementation should be a priority. It's a user base, quite large in fact looking at Steam charts for sims like AC, BeamNG or other less serious titles like FH and FM, that doesn't spend money on your game but somewhere else.

 

is it worth reinstalling it on 1.6 or things are still the same on this front?

 

Gamepad support is still the same, but the improved physics make the cars feel more predictable and more enjoyable to drive imo.

 

Thanks, but as long as the behind the scenes assists that make it feel like driving on rails are still on, I am off.

Gamepad is actually quite good with the improved physics, really enjoying the game now.
It was good before but now, it is very good.
Only downside, we are still missing the Vibration or Feedback on the Upshift if using auto gears, also would like to see a bit more feedback with the controller over kerbs etc.
@Renato Simioni any chance you could just have a look. I know you all use Wheels, but there are quite a few who use a Gamepad.

They need to do better with the rumble, it seems to only engage when tires break loose.
For comparison, with Project Cars 2, the rumble engages for gear shifting and rumble strips.

This isn't directly controller support but adding bass sound to rumble strips will help offset the lack of force feedback. Moreover, bass from LFE channel.
