I tend to go on mini rampages with the rig. I get the bug during downturns in rig time and sim interest, update stuff I've been putting off for months or years, then something like 1.6 drops and it all seems worthwhile.

Seems like a lot of effort to drag the Sim Rig into the garden :)

    Do we know:
    1. Will the foggy mirror VR bug fixed with 1.6?
    2. Will hard tires available with 1.6 for the GT3 class or is soft tires only a class requirement?

    1. It does not look like it I'm afraid. It has proven very difficult to reliably replicate and therefore to identify the cause/s. It seems to happen most often when running a class with multiple car models, and an at least fairly reliable "fix" when it occurs is to switch to using the same car as the lobby host.

Could anyone share any information regarding the VR performance in the 1.6 update, specifically in situations where you're driving in dark or rainy conditions? I'm particularly interested in how the update affects frame rates, visual clarity, and overall experience in these challenging environments.

    battle between RR3E and AMS2
Comparison between raceroom racing experience and automobilista 2.
Imola circuit and Mclaren 720 GT3 cars.
    TV, cockpit and rear view.

    which one do you prefer?

For the sound Raceroom is better with the whistle onboard

But for the textures, assets and specially screen of the car AMS2 shine.

The screen of the car wow .... Feels like a PS3 tech game

In my opinion, RaceRoom offers a significantly better driving experience compared to Automobilista 2. The force feedback effectively conveys the car's weight, making the handling feel more realistic and immersive. The audio is also much richer and more detailed, further enhancing the sense of connection with the car. Unlike AMS2, where the car tends to slide excessively, RaceRoom provides a more planted and predictable behavior, as clearly demonstrated in the video. I ensured the aerodynamic setups were as similar as possible to ensure a fair comparison.

RaceRoom also stands out for having all the official car liveries and a far greater number of original manufacturers, which adds a lot to the authenticity and immersion.

Graphically, the two titles aren't as far apart as one might expect, despite the years of technological development separating them. While AMS2 has superior reflections and particle effects, I find its visuals overly cartoonish. RaceRoom's graphics may lack some modern effects, but they feel more photorealistic, which I personally prefer. For example, the sparks when hitting the curb at Tosa corner and the dirt on the windshield in RaceRoom look far more natural and engaging compared to AMS2’s exaggerated, almost "Dragonball-like" sparks.

Another major point in RaceRoom's favor is its regularly updated circuits, which match the latest specifications. For instance, as shown here at Imola, the Acque Minerali curve and the Variante Alta no longer have asphalt run-offs but gravel traps, just like in 2024. While AMS2’s historic layouts are undoubtedly fascinating, I prefer racing on tracks that reflect the modern era. To me, having a broader variety of circuits is more valuable than having multiple layouts of the same track.

Overall, RaceRoom delivers a more satisfying driving experience, even without features like dynamic weather or day-night cycles. AMS2, in its current version (1.5), feels unstable and drifts too easily, resembling Project Cars 3 in this regard. While I appreciate AMS2's rain effects and seasonal vegetation changes, they can't compensate for the lack of driving precision I value most. Add to this the advantage of having all circuits updated to 2024 specifications, and for me, RaceRoom is the clear winner.

And now, enjoy my video testing the Lamborghini Huracán :);) AMS2 developers have been promising for over a year. While you wait (and wait), RaceRoom lets us enjoy it in all its glory.

    Buon appetito!

Posting a video advertising a different sim, even in the context of making a point is akin to placing your wedding tackle into a lions mouth then flicking his love spuds with a wet towel.

I love raceroom too, I enjoy all the sims I drive but singing Raceroom's praises in a thread dedicated to the chat about 1.6s cars is a bit misplaced 'eh.

You have to be either a troll or a fool to post this here and expect us to enjoy it, go post it in the raceroom forums or something.
