Hi. Last night with the 1.6 hype and the Steam sale I decided to chip in and get the DLC I still did not have: Endurance, Le Mans and Historical bits... This year because of Sim Racing I have started to follow WEC, and Le Mans was a great event to watch. I slept like 3 hours and I was enjoying every moment. But honestly, practicing at Le Mans feels like a chore, with not a lot to do for most of the time, and that is with the LMDh cars, Then the few twisty bits... well you'd better learn when you are on that sector because in less than one minute you will be back on those massive straights with nothing really to do. With Daytona it is the same situation really. What do you think?
I love both, but I'm very biased because I love endurance racing and both tracks so much, super easy to look over the "boring" aspects of each layout
Both are great when multiple classes are racing on them, and to me Daytona is actually pretty good regardless of the number of classes. Le Mans is not quite suitable for a single class racing though. Their strength comes from navigating through traffic or not losing time when being navigated through traffic
Not every track can be a constant rollercoaster. For time trials, qualifying and sprint races, those can be fun. But if you're doing a 3-hour stint in a 24-hour race in real life where your body is being hit with vibrations and strong G-forces without a break, you'll learn to appreciate the boring sections where your body and mind can rest a bit. Multi-class passing is also made safer by having these sections. Understandably, in simulators where the G-forces are missing, such tracks can seem a bit boring, especially when racing with no other vehicles nearby.
I agree on Leman's. Daytona, because it's an oval it's easy to drive, but Tuning is the key to use the whole track for the best times. Fun for me. 78 and still Racing
