I have a thrustmaster T248 wheel and pedals. Downloaded Automobilista 2 demo from Steam. Worked fine, liked it, so bought the full game from Steam. Even though I have set the settings to exactly the same as in demo, I cannot get the wheel to work or calibrate in the game at all. Spent hours messing about with no success. I got so fed up with it all, I got the game refunded. However, if I could just find out what the problem could be, I would buy it again. Any ideas anyone?
Hi all I have the t248 and is the same, demo worked but game does not, tried every thing written that i found here and on other forums, in other words, custom do not fix the problem. Really sad, T248 is a great wheel, but now I am thinking of refund since I can not pay the game. So far I have put down over 2 h trying to make it work, I can add that I am an IT technician Any chance we can get any indication if wheel support and this issue is being looked into. For me the wheel works in all other games PC and PS5
I don't know if the game supports the T248 directly, I'm a Fanatec guy, but if you use the 'Custom' wheel option you have to assign the steering axis to the wheel before you can calibrate it.
Yepp done that, just strange that a game like this would not support a wheel that is the latest hybrid from one of the biggest makers. I really want to play this game so for me it would be enough if I knew it was being worked on, but as I said, I tried everything that has been written
If it works in the demo what do the settings say? Is the wheel named or in there as a legacy or custom or whatever? Did you have to do anything in the demo to get it to work? My wheel just worked from what I remember although it's been a while. The tempting thing would be to suggest trying to copy the settings over from the demo folder. Although I don't think they are in a separate file like the graphic, vr and triple screen options and it's possible now that the binary settings file has changed that this would just cause the game to crash.
I solved it at least for me, Windows old bug with Usb ports that clog up, was most likely the reason for it. This worked for me. 1. Remove all instances of the wheel under HID in device manager (Mine was recognised and installed both as Advanced wheel and T248 PS4) 2. Remove all USB root devices and and ports, this will make you lose your Keyboard and mouse, i have turn off on the power button, so i just pressed that an the started it again. That always trigger a reinstall of Hardware. PLEASE NOTE keep drivers, only remove the device 3. Now the wheel calibrated correctly in the game, and worked when loaded in to a test day. Please NOTE save everything if you try this, since you need to reboot to get the USB devices back Also want to thank those that took the time to answer, it's appreciated After reboot I kept the wheel in PC mode
Save yourself the trouble and just use this utility to cleanup your USB mess that is created over time. Turn on all your USB devices. Open app. Uninstall anything that is red. Easy as can be. View any installed/connected USB device on your system
