Maybe Sun flares and/or post processing?

You can change visible vehicles but not just headlights. I think headlights are a bigger fps hit in 1.6.

I turned off shared memory in game tonight, I had the best performance since 1.6 and it stayed constant from session to session. Even upped some of my graphics settings back to what they was in 1.5 and it still ran very well. That was using the same car/track/weather combos as the previous night, where I had deteriorating performance from session to session.

When you say shared memory, where specifically in the game settings?

Its so weird. Le Mans seems to be getting worse for me. I can run every track with 48 cars and on average "medium" settings and be above 60FPS (v-sync is on anyway). Even when I set the race to have bad weather, sunsets, or night time. But Le Mans looks like a flip book right now. Even when I turn everything down its still choppy. Its weird when I tinker with the triple screen setting (SOMETIMES) if I return to Le Mans I temporarily get 60+ fps (even in the rain) but within a lap things somehow gunk up. I wonder if its a memory glitch or something since its only happening there regardless of what I'm turning up or down.

Go to the OPTIONS MENU-> SYSTEM
    Shared Memory

Not sure this will solve your problem, as it is track specific.

It maybe the long straights on le mans that are causing an issue for you with so many cars, do you limit how many are visible? If not perhaps try that option.

Thanks I’ll try that with the shared memory.

I’ve tried those graphic settings (dropped visible cars to 32, lowered graphic settings). To me there has to be something else going on because it is variable. I’ve had it run perfect in the rain with all 48 cars displayed, set up a similar session and have everything look like a slide show. You can tell when the track loads that something is going on because when the track loads there is a huge fps dip. I tried verifying my steam install, but that hasn’t helped. I mentioned the only thing that has helped occasionally is turning the triple screen on or off but that isn’t working regularly.

If you turn off shared memory what effect does that have on things like simhub, bass shakers, and other external apps?

    They don't work.

That's why if there is a problem with shared memory it needs fixing ASAP.

There may not be a problem with it. I have tried experimenting turning it on and off, with it off I get smoother gameplay for longer but performance still seems to worsen over time.

Ended up noticing I was using the official AMD driver vs. the Vulkan driver (recommended by most) on my PC so once I did that + the shared memory I was getting smooth frame rates.
