I'm really impressed with SMT off in my Ryzen 7 5800X:

 

Disabling SMT removes the ability to use Sleep mode, so for me it's a no go.

 

Yes. It's a strange behavior of Madness Engine. I only set now SMT off to play and go back to on to work or anything else than play AMS2 in VR.

I believe Reiza can't look deep into this question, third part engine core.

 

I give up settings to use PBO and let Ryzen magic lowering clocks when core hás less use. Go fixed 4.7MHz all cores. All settings ULTRA 1.5 SS. VR is very CPU demanding and multithread changing clocks here and there can't keep everything smooth, so I go for raw power until I fry this CPU and do an MOBO+CPU upgrade. Will be my excuse.

 

Hi, Sorry, I've tried to search for the topic of head tracking problem with VR, but have been unable to find it. After the big update a while back, the view in VR doesn't rotate when I turn my head (cockpit stays centered or moves when I turn my head). The view will move properly if I tilt my head or look up and down, but not when I turn my head. Why is Automobilista 2 getting so finicky these days? It used to always work brilliantly for me without any issues at all. I haven't had this issue with any other race sim. I have a RTX 4070, and I'm using a Reverb G2.

 

I never heard of that bug. I only race in vr and never saw it

Do you use windown 11,and did you update to newest version?

I have to build myself a new tower and I play in VR on HP Reverb G2.
I would like to know that for ams2 you need a 14700k or r7 9800 3d.
a 7900 xtx or a 4080 super.

I went AMD this time for the cpu. No regrets at all with the 7950x3d and a 4090.

 

AMD X3D CPU and Nvidia GPU is the way to go. I'll never go back to Intel.

Can't speak to AMD GPU's. Never owned one.

 

I have had mostly Intel systems in the past, went AMD this time due to less than stellar reviews of the new Intel chips. I'm very happy with the AMD 7950x3d, as it seems to handle everything I throw at it with ease.

I was planning to update my GPU next but, I suspect that may be more challenging than ever this time around. The GPU market seems to be experiencing something of a "Perfect Storm" scenario in terms of availability and cost. The lack of competing high-end offerings + demand for AI processors is not good for us gamers.

72hz? Really. I don’t feel comfortabel with anything lower than 90fps. I can maintain 90fps without problems. That said, I don’t race in rain and or night. Not in the rain because I just don’t like it. Not during night due to the very awful AA in the madness engine.

 

Does anyone have an AMD card?
I would have done PC full amd r7 9800x3d with 7900 xtx.
but here I am listening to you, it is better to do r7 9800x3d with 4080 super.

 

Im sure there is a reason you see so many AMD cpus with Nvidia graphics cards.

 

My 13600k is more than enough for my 4090 with my HP Reverb G2 (@3400x33xx). Always GPU limited, never CPU limited.

 

Its fine for me but yes if i had the hardware, I would go to 90. You can always increase the refresh rate if your pc can handle 72hz

 

I play with an AMD 6950xt, quest3 max resolution 90 fps, 1.2 ingame supersampling. Graphics are around medium, I think only car and road details are high, and shadows low. I works nicely and looks good, I get fps drops under rain or in some circuits in the first lap if running a lot of AI cars
