Information for Customizing AI drivers in AMS2

Also, (continuing on from this morning), is there no way we could add ballast as a crude way to slow down, for instance, some of the V10 Hi-tech cars (thinking of the hopeless Lola cars that are mated up to the Williams 3D model in game). If we were able to add ballast we could have further options and avenues to slow the cars down. Just a thought. It might help again to divide up the field further if we had a ballast parameter in the driver fields.

 

I just learned that AI Custom files can make AI issues like the ones reported in Daytona recently worse. And after some testing it seems to be true. The LMDH driven by custom AI will have much worse problems going through the bus stop for instance, constantly crashshing.

Does anyone knows how to fix that? I really like using my custom AI files.....

Does anyone know the updated category names for the revised kart classes? A custom-AI file for Superkart is still Superkart.xml, but what are the new category names for the other 4 kart classes? I’m revising the drivers for all of these categories for NAMeS but have not figured out the revised class names. Most of the new kart classes are pretty wordy….

 

Got it; I'll just need to update the livery names in those files.

 

Hello everyone, I hope someone can help me. I'm having some weird problems with getting Automobilista 2 to load the custom AI drivers.

I'm placing the xml files in this directory. The only one that works (kind-of) is G40Cup.xml, but it only works if I make a custom championship. If I do a Single Race, it doesn't work. The other ones don't work at all.

I downloaded the G40Cup.xml from a post on this forum. To create the others I copied G40Cup.xml and changed the file name and the driver livery name value. In theory, do I need to do anything else for these to work?

I've been over the original post in this forum with a fine tooth comb and I can't find anything that I've missed. I've included an example of what I'm putting into the xml files, if anyone can see anything wrong please let me know. Thank you!

 

There is no "Caterham Supersport #01" livery name. There's a "Caterham Supersport #1". The livery names have to be exact.

I've attached a text file of all of them at the moment. This might help.

Regarding having the G40Cup.xml only working in championships and not single races, for the single race I must have been choosing the Ginetta G40 from the GT5 class by mistake (visually it's exactly the same car), that's the only explanation as to why it wasn't working there.
