So I have just found out that simagic wheels and bases do not communicate with simhub wirelessly. I run a DDU and through simhub and when I make TC changes etc on my fanatec wheel it updates it on my DDU. This wont happen with simagic wirelessly then. I am now thinking the best solution might be the Asetek Invicta with one of those QR extensions and then use their clever USB connection that was linked in the video above. The next issue then is how to mount the DDU in the Asetek, lol, can't win.

how does the Ddu get its info now ?

Simhub dash works fine with my web browser dash on iPhone wirelessly, the TC changes etc come from the game to Simhub .

It is being investigated. Might not be a short term solution however.

Actually, that is a good question, I assume AMS2 but I do have a couple of buttons on my wheel mapped to simhub to cycle screens on the DDU, I guess I could use one of my button boxes for that instead, is handy having it on wheel though for quick changes.

there’s no reason you couldn’t do the same with a simagic wheel attached to the base , because Simhub detects the base as a controller through the system.
But I haven’t personally tried assigning a button with it through Simhub.

I am not sure, my understanding is that simhub doesn't detect it but I could be wrong. Will find out I guess.

Thanks for doing that test. I was just on the simagic Discord and one of the mods also verified that it works.
So decision made, this week will order ultimate base and FX pro Rim and will also pre-order the neo Rim.
    Cheers

Do you front or side mount yours? I like the front mount solution as the mount sits higher on the rig but not sure if that would let me attach my DDU mount to the front of the wheelbase then.

The possible limit is 64, and my number 48 can be detected by the game.Numbers exceeding 100 cannot be detected by AMS1, but other games do not have this problem. This makes me suspect that it may not be just a problem with the game engine.

Reviving an old thread, I decided to make the move to Asetek a year after moving into Simagic. Have the Invicta wheelbase on the way and the new Forte wheel coming, love what Asetek are doing.

What was the driving factor between changing from simagic to asetek in the end?

If I was needing to change wheel base I would definitely be looking at Asetek.
There’s passion and innovation behind the brand , much like Simagic , but there’s doubt about that going forward with Tyler Wangs abrupt exit.
But the fact is my Version 1 Alpha Mini still works as good as the first day after what I estimate is over 4000hrs use . can’t justify the cost of changing, especially as real cars are costing me a fortune currently. :p

For me it came down to wheel choices. ATM simagic is a closed system except for the Neo but I have read of so many issues with it in their discord channel over the last year and they are going to release more wheels similar to that this year.
With Asetek I believe they have a number of brands on board that will sell their rims with the Asetek QR that will bolt straight onto the Asetek wheel bases without need for a cable connection as well. I like clean solutions without dangling cables. They also have a cool edge to them and their products seem to be of extremely high quality. I like my simagic gear but Asetek looks next level and I am after something long term that I can just keep adding to without too many restrictions on it.

Yeah, there is something funky going on there, I guess time will tell what effect it has on simagics products.

Asetek Forte wheel bits turned up on Friday so I put it together, have it mounted on my rig until the wheelbase turns up. It is quite a stunning wheel to be honest. Very different to the original versions with plastic buttons.
