Had a great Group C race on Hockenheim against the AI, pitted, went out on track, a lap later out of the first chicane I lost the drive and stopped. Engine running, put it in first gear but car wouldn’t run. A random failure or a bug? No indication of failure on the dashboard. I have experienced technical problems before, as the car not running on all cylinders, misfiring if I remember correctly, but I got notified about the problem on the Hud. No such indication this time.

Sounds like you killed the clutch. It's not shown in the HUD, but the sim tracks (at least, and almost certainly other properties too behind the scenes) the clutch temperature and damage/wear, as those are exposed via shared memory.

Slipping the clutch causes wear and increases the temperature, and if the clutch gets too hot the wear rate shoots up and you end up with pretty much the situation you described.

    Thanks for the reply!
I am using the automatic clutch, slipping shouldn’t be a problem but I’m impressed if the game tracks all these factors, nonetheless.
