Hi, I'm a newer player. These are quality of life features I would love to see added:
    • More information in monitor view. For example: more lap times (RaceRoom shows you all laps in a drop-down style menu) and amount of laps driven for practice and qualifying sessions. Amount of pit stops done by each driver. I want to be my friends' race engineer :)
    • Aerial/helicopter camera for replays and monitor view. This camera angle could give a lot of clarity as to what is happening on track. Alternatively a form of free-look would be great also.
    • Time stamps on the replay timeline and the ability to skip to specific laps.
    • Improved mouse support in menus. I cannot scroll down the settings menus while also moving my mouse down, for example (at least not with a controller connected).

Automobilista is one of the sim game with the closest physics engine to real life feeling. However, game developers should seriously consider to update the graphics of Automobilista. Newly released sim games making you feel more realistic with their updated graphics engines, despite having worse physics engines. For example GT7 has best cars, ACE has the best asphalt and terrain, Forza Motorsport has the best lighting system like stop lamps, head lamps, sky and sun reflections. I think you should bring more realistic graphics and visuals on asphalt, lights, grass, updated car visuals, shaders, etc. and please also get licenses from other brands like Ferrari, Aston Martin, any other gt3 brands. Other games bringing all. I don't want you to fall behind. The graphics are starting to get outdated.

Either you posted this in the wrong part of the forum, because this is the Automobilista 2 part of the forum, or got your settings suboptimal.

If you are actually talking about AMS2, i would advise you to post your system specs, so people in here might be able to help you improve your settings, cause AMS2 is visually one of the best out there, especially considering it's from 2020, and the engine is even older.
Besides that, not so great visuals has worked very well for iRacing, so not really a need to update.

I would really like to finally see a normal AI. Endurance multiclass racing with AI in that game is a real disaster because of the terrible AI

It's not always the AI, very often it's the human....

What would help is if you post a proper report, ideally with screenshots/video footage of the issues you run into, looking at your post history, you only post generic things, giving the devs a more detailed report helps them to address things quicker, as that way they are pointed in the right direction.

I would suggest for you to make a post where you mention/show certain corners/part of tracks, where you experience issues.

A generic short post really doesn't help, as the devs are probably aware that the AI still needs work, having concrete examples is what helps them.

Exactly, you have to provide more evidence. A simple steam recording of the AI being "terrible" is so much better than randomly posting.

I just got out of a 90 minute race against the AI multiclass at Spa and had the opposite experience. It was fun battles and seeing the AI quickly get through traffic basically the entire time on medium aggression, (other than a few obvious blockages that I don't blame them for like getting stuck behind 2 wide GT3s fighting for position lol).

It may not be perfect but it's far from terrible unless you can point to some specific examples.

Indeed. You can't just blurt out 'this is bad', 'this has to be different'. Please provide evidence/videos/screenshots, etc and post them in the appropriate topics. The more detailed the reports the better. It makes a whole world of difference

Deep breath, feeling the frustrations! Personally I'm trying (arguably not succeeding) to be patient... After all there is some exceeding good experiences to be found amongst the blatantly awful.

Perhaps, just maybe, there is some middle ground between the fan boys and the naysayers. :p

Just remind yourselves, it's a game. For fun. :D

Dlss for vr please. Haven't read all the posts here so apologies if it's been brought up already (I'm guessing it has). Performance is good already but Dlss would make Ams2 THE king of sims for vr.

Compared to each other (day and night), the performance is literary day and night. What i wish like to have is the option for the visible cars bound to time slots.
    So i can have them
    • all visible at daytime, where the performance is no problem at all,
    • sunset, which seems to be the most performance intensive time for me
(with long shadows and car lights) and
    • nighttime, when the performance seems to get better after the sun is completely gone.

This must have been mentioned hundreds of times already but a working marshal system that incorporates the use of various flags when needed. Not every incident needs to be a FCY. Games in the 1990s had working marshals that waved all sorts of flags.

Re: F-USA Gen 1 - It seems a pity that we already have the cars, the track and (more recently) the grid slots to run a full 33-car 1995 Indy 500, yet we are limited to 28 unique livery slots.

Any chance we could get e.g. five more Lola slots? I know this would require five more generic liveries (which is not nothing), but they could just be copies of existing ones with a different number.

Bonus points if three of them could have a Menard-style 'humpback' tweak to the model, but I appreciate that'd be more effort. More bonus points if tire sidewall textures could be added to the livery override system :p

    Cheers -

Totally agree. More user control/flexibility over the different aspects would be great, such as changing tire sidewall textures.

Adding 2-3 Reynard slots would also be a great addition and increase the realism factor. :)

    Suggestion for more singleplayer fun:

In AMS2, you often find yourself staring at the huge selection of tracks and cars, not quite sure which combination to go for. In the end, you usually just end up picking the same tracks and cars over and over again.

I’d love to see a simple “Random Race” button that picks a random track and a random car (from all the content you own), along with random weather and time of day. Every time you click the button, the game throws you into a new racing experience and you try to master whatever combo the game has rolled for you.
The only things the player should still be able to set manually are the number of AI drivers, race length, and whether you want practice and qualifying sessions. Everything else should be random.

This would be a great way to encourage players to try out cars and tracks they might otherwise never pick (with a small chance of total chaos, like getting Formula-cars in the rain at night on a karting track :)).

I imagine this feature wouldn’t be too difficult to implement, and I think I’d have a ton of fun with it while waiting for the career mode to drop. It would definitely bring more fun and new challenges to the singleplayer experience.

    thx!

There are some properties that are not passed to Simhub which would be really useful for making nice dashboards.
Opponent tyre compound (S,M,H,W,I) not available
    Estimated Pit duration
    Estimated position after pitting
Time at track (i.e session starts at 2pm but the time is 8x accelerated)
