Racing in endurance racing isn't very realistic without the AI drivers teaming up and doing stints in the same car. When do Reiza plan to add this to AMS2?
    Thanks.

Hi, can I ask how this would change things and would work.
I've seen a number of people request this, and I'm a bit confused.
Would it just mean that the name of the driver of a particular car would change?

No, they'd have to take the time to pit and swap out drivers, they wouldn't have to animate a driver swap (though it would be nice) just a 10 second delay.

I would assume that the different drivers would come with their own personality attributes, so it could actually change their driving.

Would this apply if no custom AI file is installed?

I assume the default AI drivers have all the attributes with values differing between drivers, they're just not visible anywhere. Someone please correct me if this isn't the case.

    Different attributes?
Every AI, regardless of the game, feels like a driver has been cloned 47 times.

Changing drivers mainly means swapping names. I can't tell any differences between the drivers without looking at the code. On paper, they may be different characters, but on the racetrack, no player can recognize any of those characters.

Basically, there's always a train with loose wagons running there. Using traditional methods, it will be difficult to program a believable AI for every car/track combination. Especially when the gap is so wide that everything from go-karts to trucks can drive on 40 tracks.

I'm already noticing incredible errors and gaps in the AI after 20 minutes of racing. How do you manage not to tear your hair out during long-distance races? You drive for three hours only to be handed the win because an AI spins and 30 other drivers block the track.

Hot lap or sprint races are the sector where you can mainly have fun with simulators (outside of multiplayer). A driver change is the least of all the problems AI's have. The AI generally behaves like 10 fingers of a single person. One is longer, one is shorter, but they don't fight among themselves. They more like work together.

Reiza does a great job. And the AI will definitely continue to improve. But even at Gold status, I don't trust any AI to be able to credibly handle long-distance races. The mistakes add up so much as the race length increases that in the end you feel like you are racing against an EXE table.
It doesn't matter what game. Actually, a completely different approach to programming AI for racing simulations is needed. But the whole thing is much bigger than the simulation itself.

P.S.: I used the translator. I wrote: "You get the victory for free..." But the AI translates it as "You lose the victory." One small mistake and the sentence reads completely differently.

    AI ¿?

Six hours of going around in circles and one mistake ruins everything. ;D

Right now I'd take just a driver name change, a pit stop to change driver name and a slight difference in lap times from driver to driver.
